I just got the Necklace of Fetishes from Firelands Timewalking. I upgraded it to 437, only to then find out that Tiered Medallion Setting can’t be applied to it. This doesn’t seem intended. If we’re able to spend Dragonflight upgrade tokens on it, we should be able to apply this Dragonflight enchant as well.

Same boat very upset. They need to fix this issue, other pieces can get armor kits, weapon enchants, etc. Why not the neck?

Totally ridiculous. This essentially makes the value of the 437 full upgraded TW neck worth even less than that of a 408 with full sockets, which are now very easy to make with the Enchanted Whelping Crest (source: I simmed it). Has anyone put in a ticket? This doesn’t seem what should be intended.

Just got the same neck and wasted all my flightstones and a couple crests upgrading it to max, proceeded to get a Tiered Medallion Setting and some gems, and I can’t even use them. Very upsetting. Hopefully they fix this.
I just did. Will report back.
I also looted a chest piece from the same raid and was able to apply Waking Stats to it so there’s no reason for the neck to not be enchantable.

I had put in a ticket on this. Basically what they told me was that the developers are aware of it and are looking into it, and to put in an in-game bug report.

I also did a ticket and got the below response, a bit of explanation at least. Looks like all we can do is submit as a bug and hope enough do that they do something about it.
"I understand how frustrating it can be when there seems to be no reason for why an item like this Tiered Medallion doesn’t work. After reviewing all of the details, I was able to find an answer for you on this. Those Tiered Medallions can only be used on Dragonflight gear. Your Choker of the Vanquished Lord came from Cataclysm Timewalking, so it is categorized as a Cataclysm item, not a Dragonflight item; even though it is scaled to Dragonflight level.
There has been no confirmation from the developers on whether or not this is an intended mechanic or an unintended side effect from the wording on that item. Just in case this is a bug, I have submitted a bug report on my end so that we can get this issue tracked properly. However, I will also encourage you to submit a bug report from your end as well."
By that logic, we shouldn’t be able to enchant any item from timewalking, but that’s not the case, it’s just this one neck.

This is the response I got:
I checked our internal information, and we are receiving similar reports from other players about problems using Tiered Medallion Setting on items. At this time, we have identified issues specifically with Timewarped Gear. As our team keeps investigating the issue, we recommend sending a report through the in-game bug report system, where all character and game data can be captured for our QA team to examine. You can also check the forums to see if there are any other players that are experiencing similar issues. If we are able to confirm an in-game issue, fixes or compensation will be done by the developers for all affected players
Sounds like they know about it. Keep reporting it so they can fix it or at least refund our flightstones and crests.

2024 and this is still an issue. Kinda dumb really.
Feb 3rd 2024, still an issue. Got Heartstone of Rhyolith from the reward box for doing Firelands TW (467 Hero 1/6), can’t use the Medallions on it. Tried to use a Rank 2 and a Rank 3.
Still an issue – has not been resolved. Happened to me with “Rage of Ages” neck
