Can't add funds with mastercard gift card - solved

I’m trying to add funds to my battle.net account - unfortunately I keep getting denied. It says “Name on card” - on my gift card it just says “A Gift For You” - i tried that but it doesnt work. I have the funds available too.

How can I make a purchase with battle.net shop with a prepaid mastercard giftcard - what should I put in for the name?

You can try registering the card, the address should be on the back.

Just beware, as I found out through a friend, those cards do not always work as debit cards.

It worked fine earlier on a Steam Purchase… i cant register it - only check the balance. It’s the name field that is messing this up I think. Steam doesnt require a name.

Checking the account - I see several -1.00 transactions pending from Blizzard - so it almost went through ti seems.

With most prepaid gift credit cards like that, there is some way to register it on the website listed on the back of the card. It has to be for a lot of on-line purchases.

I figured it out and got it to work! So, my gift card had $50 on it. I tried to make a purchase for $50 and it didnt work. They charge $1 as a test for purchases - that made my gift card $49 so it didnt go through. I tried it several more times and it went down to 47. I tried for $45 dollars and it worked!

I am very glad you were able to get things figured out. I know visa/ Mastercard gift cards can be very finicky.
