Did you manage to replicate it? If I copy stuff on ptr it works fine.
I could not replicate the issue. I copied my character from Live over to Beta and I was able to switch to the choice nodes that did not work previously. Everything seems to be working fine there. I am going to try and export the spec back over and see what happens.
That’s why I think it’s a server issue. Even with PTR and the same client the issue is not there.
But if we server transfer it carries over with us as you noted prior.
Yes it has to do with live servers. Maybe our chars are stored differently in live versus test servers
I submitted a bug in game which I realized I should have done already. I linked this thread which will provide additional examples and detail explanations than anything I wrote.

The endgame server didn’t have this issue
New node I can’t select: I can’t select Windspeaker’s Lava Resurgence either. Only Skybreaker’s. I’ll update with more nodes I am unable to select later.
One thing I am curious. Did everyone import a loadout or no? I am finding if I use Wowhead, IcyVeins, Talent Tree Viewer (In Game Addon) they all have similar codes
but vary in differences as well. I wonder if the code we imported, if we did, messed the coding in the back end?
Didn’t import anything for shadow spec which I am experiencing this problem. I was trying to save different builds I was creating for different content but did not import anything for shadow spec.
I did import a guildie’s disc build and have had no problems with disc. However I didn’t play around with the talents as much as I did with shadow.
I remember trying to import a RaiderIO talent build because it wasn’t making sense on the website (showed all talents). Then I got an error “cannot import the loadout”. Nevertheless, after a few second the “apply” button went from gray to red so I pressed it.
After that and re-editing this build and trying it on target dummies, I saw the random demon proc (Fodder to the flame) without actually haven’t talented it. Obviously, that was a bug so I tried to “unlearn” the talent by picking the other choice in the choice node. This fixed the talent (no more demon procs) but made the talent unpickable.
Since then, I was playing around with imports from wowhead just in case I can somehow undo the damage by another broken string. I had access to some old talent export strings that result in negative talents point. Nevertheless, after messing around I managed to destroy another choice node. In particular, I was able to have 2 points on a choice node. After that, neither node is pickable anymore.
I haven’t tried to import any string, just select them manually on my end.
That is “good” to know. Meaning that more people will encounter this bug so blizzard will definitely notice
Day 1 of the pre-patch I had attempted to import a build from IcyVeins and received the “loadout is from an old version” error - and my talent tree was broken from then on.
I pulled mine in from a Youtuber then adjusted some talents. It wasn’t until after the update on Tuesday when I noticed after trying to go to my main spec from an alternative “Speed Set” spec.
If more people get the bug, it will become a bigger thing. I went over class discords and redirected people here that have the same issue. Lets try to have all reports here.
Can we please get a blue post on this or something so we can fix our characters.
