When I open my spell book, I am unable to see the mana cost of different ranks or certain spells (lightning bolt, chain lightning, shocks), but can see mana costs for other spells like heals and totems. Why am I unable to see mana costs for certain spells? I cannot see them on my bars or in my actual spell book. I have disabled each addon I have one by one and reloaded, and the issue did not correct itself, so I do not think an addon is causing this.
Try a full ui reset doesnt sound like u did it properly
Full UI reset just done following those steps. Game relaunched clean, with original UI and no add-ons at all. Mana costs still not showing for only certain spells while showing for others.
When you completed the UI reset did you get the starting cinematic?
Is this for all of your characters or just your Shaman, Kambria?
I did not get any cinematics.
This issue appears to only be affecting my Shaman, and only affecting offensive spells (lightning bolt, chain lightning, and all shocks). Heals, totems, and weapon buffs (rockbiter, windfury weapon, etc.) all appear with mana costs on each rank.
Proper UI reset wouldve done a factory reset your sure u deleted cache/wtf/interface folders while completed loged outa game and launcher.
Is this classic or retail?
My ele shammie doesn’t use mana for his dps spells any more on retail…
Oh boy. I fixed the issue. It was a very silly user error. Thank you all!
How did you solve it?
Please be mindful of the date of the thread you’re responding to.
This thread is two years dead, and the OP has not even logged that character into the forums since 2021. You’re not likely to get a response from them. Any thread older than two weeks or so is a necro and not really a good thing to do as things are always changing and what might have originally been the issue then, isn’t the same scenario as now.
Now, that being said. You’re not seeing the mana cost on any of your spells? Keeping in mind not all Paladin spells have a mana cost, you’re not getting anything when you hover over a spell that does have a cost?
If that tool tip isn’t showing for you, it may just be hidden away behind some element of your UI.
In the edit mode, you’ll want the HUD Tool Tip checked, and you can see where I’ve got mine situated in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen (the golden-colored element). Sometimes things can get lost behind other elements, that’s oftentimes the culprit.
