Cannot Restore Authenticator

Somehow my authenticator became “un” set up on my phone. I am still logged in to the forums to post, but I can’t log in to any other battle.net sites or do anything that requires the authenticator.

To set up my authenticator properly, it is asking for me to go to battle.net/bma from a previously used computer. All of the options like changing passwords, removing authenticators, etc. all require a response from my authenticator, which is not set up.

I have used this authenticator on this phone, and for as long as I can remember, it just asked me for face ID. Now it says that it is just not set up. I can’t get into my account to take it off, either.

You’ll need to submit a ticket, Bertimus.

It sounds like it got reset - or you reinstalled. Unless you have the old serial number and restore code there just isn’t a way to reestablish the old authenticator on that phone.

Billing, however, can remove that one - and you can then replace it.

Going forward - if you jot down the restore code and serial number, even if you change phones, you’ll be able to get back to that authenticator.
