Yup that fixes it, smol indie company. Something like this should be fixed automatically after maybe a day, not leave me hanging like this for over a week.

Realy how about instead of insulting a company you do a little research first you couldve found the answer here or maybe i dont know the beta forums wheres theres stickies fir this kinda thing.

Yeah - tell us what Beta testing means to you without telling us.

Wasn’t Beta released 2 days ago?

Why should I be doing research for an issue that according to you exists long enough for a big company like Blizzard to fix?

:dracthyr_shrug: I’ve been alpha/beta testing long enough without posting on the forums.

Read my post, I had alpha access too and couldn’t post. Relogging there didn’t fix it.

Had you tried scrolling down the forum you wouldve found 2 topics that had the same issues days ago that had the solution.

These forums aren’t owned by Blizzard, another company runs them. Sometimes logging out or doing a password change forces a refresh of your account status. It doesn’t automatically update itself every second, that would be a colossal waste of energy.

Probably, but I really cba going through THAT much effort for something that should’ve been fixed several alpha/beta cycles before. They could also just add this info to the tooltip :dracthyr_shrug:

You’re telling me that a multi-million company that integrates software from probably also a multi-million company can’t have a simple webhook to notify the forum to update permissions for a specific user?

Well in that case you’re wrong. They can easily do this, they just don’t want to.

How were you ‘left hanging for over a week’ when it only became available yesterday?

It’s also partly due to the browser on your PC, relogging refreshes the data on your browser, so it wasn’t really broken. Just needed a refresh.

Blizzard doesn’t own the software the forums run on. It’s a 3rd party and they’re basically limited by the code owner as they have to work within their means of it.

I know reading is difficult, just please read my post before commenting.

I highly doubt they store permissions client side.

Big customers usually have the ability to request new features if it doesn’t exist yet. My company works like that, our customers work like that, we as customers can request (and pay for) features of products we use.

Doesn’t matter if they own it or not.

Browser side.

It’s the cookie in your browser, it gets refreshed when you log out and back in.

The game client has nothing to do with posting privileges.

Just because it’s requested, doesn’t mean they’re required to do it. Like with folks wanting account wide ignore, doesn’t mean the forum code owners will drop everything to do it. Like with this, it’s far more deep then someone adding a line of code or flipping a switch.

I think you’re misunderstanding with the post is about. It’s about the forum not updating permissions despite my game account having alpha/beta access.

Client side is what I’m talking about, because your browser is client side and has nothing to do with the game client itself in this context.

So you logged out, back in, and it fixed it.

Not sure why there was a need to take a jab at Blizzard for this.

It wasn’t something that CS could help with beyond advising what we did, in multiple posts, and with a Blue poster also stating this.

As noted, the software the forum is under is not solely owned by Blizzard, but Discourse, so it’s more a third party cookie issue, relogging fixed that.

It happens frequently during billing of renewing subs. It’s the go to fix for when one can only post in the Support forums, even with an active sub.

Have same issue. Edit: The logout → log back in fixed it.
