While Blizzard has not released an official statement detailing the restrictions on deploying training dummies within raid and dungeon instances, players have noted that allowing the use of training dummies in raids could lead to unintended advantages, such as:

Cleave Mechanics: Certain classes could exploit training dummies to cleave off them, thereby inflating their damage output.
Resource Generation: Some classes might use training dummies to generate additional resources, which could be used to gain an unfair advantage during boss encounters.

The potential exploits could undermine the intended challenge and balance of raid content. Consequently, Blizzard has implemented restrictions on the use of certain items, including training dummies, within raid and dungeon instances to preserve game integrity.

This applies to the following:

Sturdy Love Fool
Turnip Punching Bag
Anatomical Dummy
Tuskarr Training Dummy
Black Dragon’s Challenge Dummy
Barrel of Fireworks

Many of these items are flagged or blacklisted as the following:

Cannot be used in a raid
Can only be used outdoors

Blacklisting all items by default is undoubtedly the easier approach from a development and maintenance standpoint. It ensures that no unintended items cause exploits or balance issues within raid and dungeon instances. However, a whitelisting system would allow developers to make case-by-case exceptions for items that should be functional in specific situations.

For example, in the case of the “I Pitied the Fool” achievement, if Naxxramas had an exception (whitelist flag) for the Love Fool item, players would still be able to complete the achievement without Blizzard needing to remove it from the meta or delay the reward for another year.

Cannot currently complete the Fool for Love Achievement since it requires I pitied The Fool. But you are not able to drop the item or the toy inside Naxxaramas to complete it.
Please help

Other players have noted that having an achievement that requires you to do something impossible is a shart experience. I don’t care if there is a reason that it was broken. Everything has a reason that it was broken. I care that the game is in a continually broken production state because Blizzard continues to push updates without testing them appropriately. It’s not my job to spend time on forums understanding why their garbage stinks so bad. I am paying for the game. My job is to enjoy the game. A job that blizzard seems bound and determined to make impossible.

I’ll be so mad if they don’t fix it this year because that’s the absolute last part of the Love Fool achievement for me and once I finish this achievement, I’ll finally get the Violet Proto-Drake.

Also bugged for me. It’s the very last part I need for “What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been” achievement. If I have to wait until next year for a teeny, tiny part of one achievement, I’m gonna be so mad.

Issue still occurs as described as of the time of this post, with both consumable and toy versions of the love fool.

Same, can’t place and the fix would be so simple, just have it count outside by the meeting stone! I hope they just remove the love fool achievement from it so I can count it. It and 2 Children’s Week holidays are all I will need for the proto-dake. Don’t wanna wait another year.
