Cannot Complete Campaign Quest: Controlled Demolition in the Ringing Deeps

Hello, I filed a bug report on this yesterday, so I apologize if I’m duplicating work for you all: Cannot Complete Campaign Quest: Controlled Demolition in the Ringing Deeps

I’ll copy the text of that in here as well:

I’m having issues completing the Controlled Demolition quest in the Ringing Deeps.

The quest objective is to kill 18 Skardyn, but when I do so and try to turn it in to Magni, the option to complete the quest is grayed out.

After reloading and trying again, the button is no longer grayed out, but when I click it, it says I don’t meet the requirements for the quest and goes back to being grayed out.

I abandoned the quest and tried to accept it again, but it did not show up in my quest log, and a world quest with the same name and objective popped up in my tracker, even though I’m not level 80.

I completed the new quest because Magni showed I had one in progress despite no tracker, but when it was complete I had the same issue as before.

I’ve tried a few more things like disabling addons and hard restarts, but I am still unable to complete this quest, which is unfortunately keeping me from advancing the leveling campaign.

Disabling addons will never fix a corrupted ui you need to do a proper reset by either deleting or renaming the wtf cache and interface folder while logged outa game and launcher.

Thank you for the suggestion, this was my next course of action, but I actually just managed to complete this without having to go nuclear on the WTF and interface folders.

Not entirely sure what was the cause, but I think it may have been the addon Dialog UI (which changes the Dialog window).

This issue has been resolved (hopefully).

If it happens agai. Do a proper reset even uninstalling and installing a new version wont fix it.

I’m glad you were able to solve it! Just for future reference, you don’t have to go completely nuclear. If you rename/move the folders you can restore them after you try a reset. Simply move them back to the original spot.

Most of the time, I can fix these sorts of errors by just deleting the WoW cache folder contents. I save the nuclear option for when things are really upside down.
