So my character Zestira - WrA has had a back and forth with customer support about a week ago and they havent been able to fix my issue. basically I need the quest Excuse the Mess from Sendrax. Normally Adventuring in the Dragon Isles lets you use the scouting map beside a nearby npc to select an area.
Can confirm, I did this on a non-boosted character and it worked. I was told by CS that because I did the emerald dream or something else, idk, that was why the map didnt work for me. However this has the issue of me being unable to accept excuse the mess and thusly continue questing in the zone.
Now the CS, wont talk bad about them, but it seems theyre uninformed or theys ee things we canât because they mentioned I can accept the quest Excuse the Mess by abandoning Adventuring in the dragon isles. Which you cannot. And Ive done this check without addons or anything of the sort. Ive accepted, abandoned, Ive come via the boat cause I thought that might be it. Nothing allows access to the scouting map and as such I decided to check again today and saw a GM had managed to help another player with a similar issue by accepting the quest for them and was hoping CS/GM/someone could accept it for my Vulpera on Wyrmsrest Accord.
Thats it. I dont need anything else I just wanted to be able to continue the questline on her(Tho now I made a 3rd hunter so this hunter doesnt really matter as much anymore). But regardless I was hoping this could be done just to have her fixed for the future.

Short answer theres nothing that can be done here.
Long answer this will have to escalated to the developers gms cant fix this issue nor can they fix bugs. The blues here arent able to fix issues here either this is something the developers willl need to look at.

After doing a bit of digging on this topic, it seems that Characters that progressed with the campaign before Adventure Mode was unlocked seem to not be able to use the Scouting Map. This seems to be intended since one of the NPCâs involved with Adventuring in the Dragon Isles dies as you progress through the campaign (preventing you from using the Scouting Map correctly).
In this scenario, abandoning Adventuring in the Dragon Isles will allow you to continue the regular quest chain.

That was the last message I was supplied. Itâs clearly false however given I cannot accept anything -but- Adventuring in the Dragon Isles.

This topic which makes it seem like CS/GM/Whoever can indeed accept a quest for you that you yourself may not be able to see.
Edit: Also this was after a few back and forths with me stating I cannot see any quest beyond Adventuring In the Dragon Isles. I have I believe 3 emails with them stating to simply abandon the quest and get the other quest which isnt possible. Which means a bricked character. Hence me turning to here.
They have the same tools of a gm so if a gm cant fix it odds are they cant eitherthey also try not to do it if they can help it.

But they didnt try to fix it. I got email after email of abandon the quest, the next quest is magically there. Which again, in the linked topic you can see someone else cannot see the quest that is âjust there, abandon the old quest sillyâ.
Telling me to abandon and just pick it up, when -i- cant and have stated that over many emails isnt them âfixingâ. Its them stating what they think I can see which is different from truth. So Im hoping a CS can see this, can see the other topic and perhaps offer something. Cause this is a paid boost that is squandered since I cant even continue a dang zone. Id think being unable to continue a zone cause of a quest lock deserves some help beyond
âJust abandon and accept a questâ being told 5 times.

So are you reopening the ticket or creating a new one every time that would be why ur getting the same answer.
I reopened it. Between Dec 15 to 18. 4 reopenings, 3 GMs. Final GM I gave up and let it close cause each GM repeated the previous GM about abandoning.
I want to clarify that the other thread linked here was a case where Vrakthris logged into that character, and accepted it as a player would. This isnât necessarily the same issue.
I see Vrakthris is typing up a reply so Iâll leave it at that. But! Good luck, this sounds pretty frustrating all in all.

Iâm afraid that is the current advice, as it is one workaround that seems to have worked for others. As this is a relatively new issue, a Game Master would not really be able to do much else.
This is likely a bug, one which has been forwarded to our QA team and is being looked into. That resolution is most likely going to be theyâll figure out why some characters cannot pick up the quest or interact with the map, if that is what needs to happen, and theyâll put in a hotfix.
If a Game Master were to interfere, that could âbrickâ your character, as you put it, or a least cause an issue that may prevent you from continuing the campaign.
In the example you listed from the other thread, abandoning the quest and standing near Sendrax for several minutes, eventually showed the Excuse the Mess quest becoming available. I donât know if they followed the directions I gave, so I donât know if it would have shown up for them or not. It did for me, but there was nothing special I did except abandon the quest and stand around. Iâd give it a try.
Beyond that, you will likely need to wait until a resolution can be found.
It is less about âcanâtâ and more âshouldnâtâ. There are a lot of things that might happen when you complete a quest, especially quests that are part of a campaign. You can enter or leave a phase, receive a âflagâ that has an NPC appear or disappear, or move, or provide a different version of that NPC. Much of what happens is entirely behind the scenes, so manually flagging or adding a quest can mess that up because then the hidden state never gets applied, which may prevent the character from starting or completing any number of things.

Got it. Thatâs all I needed to know then. So is there any recourse for⌠knowing if the team behind the scenes fixed anything and now all characters will work? Like is this worthy of a GM post to look out for in the future? Or something that ⌠check back every week and see if something changes?
I mean I wanted her to be my horde character that went about doing loremaster horde side hence my 3rd hunter but her being unusable for quests means shes kinda just sitting there now. And I have no idea what to do with her now. I wasted the money on a boost since it bricked my horde character and now I kinda just⌠deal with it.
I dont raid, pvp, heck I dont do dungeons. So there goes my horde options and I paid 50(I bought the bundle) to be able to do just this, twiddle my thumbs.
I mean, thank you atleast for responding and atleast letting me know. Hopefully people behind the scenes can fix it soon. But thats a huge bummer.
Edit: Oh if it matters. Sendrex is completely broken. The other person didnt specify, but even her 2nd/3rd dialogues are broken. Incase that matters for info. She doesnt respond to if shes seen a before, or the other option at all. She offers Adventuring in the dragon isles and thats it.
I am going to try the abandon and sit around tho. Watch a youtube video and let time pass and see what happens.
There are definitely times when we (We as in Support) are able to help, but it tends to be on approved troubleshooting steps. The character from the other thread may end up having an issue, I donât know, but for now, it is probably best to avoid flipping switches.
We have a Hotfix Blog that is updated all the time. It doesnât list every little fix that is put in, but it tends to mention a number of them. Iâd keep an eye on that. I have the current link listed in the âInfo & Known Issuesâ thread for 10.2 at the top of the page.
Iâll also be keeping an eye on the issue, so if I get an update Iâll try to update the thread. It almost certainly wonât be until after the holidays, as most folks are out to spend time with their families, etcâŚ
It was less than 5 minutes for me. So if it doesnât happen within that time, Iâd move on. No sense in sitting around for too long.

So just a quick update. No dice, no change. I mean I wont die. I have my main hunter, she didnt boost cause this scared me off of that(THo the realm transfer put the fear of god in me when I did that). So Ill just accept it is what it is. Maybe make a horde rogue and try that instead.
Regardless. Best of the season to you all. No more responses from me here. Its done with till the people behind the scenes find out whats wrong! Annnnd out!
(Also random, no need to respond, why dont my characters update? My DH is max level. >.> and has been for a while)

I have the same problem, I was on one side of syndrax for 20 minutes and it didnât solve the problem, that makes me want to stop playing this character because it takes away all the meaning of not being able to continue with the campaign and currently I have 482 ilvl, which sad.
This happens to me with 2 characters in whom I have invested too much time of my life and money⌠for this to happen is frustrating and screwed up.
It sounds like itâs actively being worked on and hopefully a fix can be pushed through soon. I know waiting sucks and thatâs not what you want to hear but thatâs all that can be done right now.
It might help to post over in the bug report forum or in-game to report the problem. The more data points they have to work from the easier (in theory) it is to find the problem to fix it. It doesnât sound like itâs super wide spread so any additional data should help.
