The new neck piece Dreambound Choker (ilvl 415) that you can buy from Hamuul Runetotem cannot he upgraded with sockets using the Tiered Medallion Settings. A similar bug occurred with the Obsidian Collar back when DF was just released.

having the same issue with the neck piece purchased using Dreamsurge Coalescence (402). None of the settings can be applied to the neck.

Same issue right now. got it as 415 ilvl. Upgraded to 418. Can’t use ANY of the quality items to socket it even once (it’s first time).

I submitted a bug report when I first got the choker and tried adding sockets to it. they replied within a day and said they were aware of the issue. I was kind of hoping it would have been fixed by now.

Any chance of getting the Dreamsurge Coalescence back after the equiping the neck? This was the one slot I did have at 424 or above…and it’s bugged.

I am so bummed, I worked several hours doing those Dreamsurge events and was able to purchase that neck piece. Then had a jeweler make me the three Tiered Medallion Settings that I needed, only to get the following error message when I tried to apply them:
Error message: This item cannot be modified
I cannot believe this is bugged.
Note: I put a bug report in-game on this issue today when I realized it was bugged.

Just adding I can’t add a tiered medallion setting to mine either.
I also can’t refund the item because I equipped it thinking I had to have it equipped to add the 3 sockets.

Yeah, crazy as hell, so if they are aware of the bug, wheres the official post in regards to it? I mean honestly, how hard is it to open up notepad, check for all current bugs posts, type them in notepad, copy and paste, then make an official post, so that us people have an actual list of current bugs!!! But TBH, wth is the point of maintenance when during maintenance is when you’re suppose to make sure that everythings good to go and in working order. Not fix last years’ bugs and then make new ones.

Bumping this thread because we need them to see this and fix it. I hate when players find bugs and notify the bug team, only to have it ignored.
I am trying to get my main character’s ilevel up past 425 and need all the gear upgrades and embellishments I can get. Just learned we are going to have higher ilvl requirements for the new upcoming raid Bliz will be releasing and I am at least 20 ilvls away. Seems I am gaining speedy improvements like a turtle.
Larger Item Level Increase Between Tiers for Season 3 - Patch 10.2 PTR
On the Patch 10.2 PTR, the item level increase going from Season 2 to Season 3 is much larger than normal: +39 item levels between tiers rather than the standard +26.

I have the same issue. I opened a ticket last Tuesday and the GM told me they were aware of the issue. I was hoping they would have fixed it by now.

Same issue. Doesn’t seem to be high prio at this point. Maybe is isn’t considered end game, although veteran items can be socketed just fine.

Its getting old with Bliz failing to actually fix bugs that should allow for attaching gem slots, but failing. Its a known bug, so come on Bliz, if you know about it, fix it.

There never will be.
In the Bug Reports forum, you report bugs, QA assesses bug report, QA forwards bug report to developers if it’s legitimate, developers fix bug in accordance with their resources and priorities.
At no point do they confirm a bug, discuss a bug, promise a schedule, even promise a fix. There are still bugs in the game literally more than a decade old which the devs have chosen not to fix. This may conceivably become another one of those.
The only bugs you get developer or support feedback about are the ones that literally prevent 100% of the player base from playing the game at all. Less than that, their openness drops off sharply.
And this report is regrettably less than that.
The only feedback you might get about this bug report is if they choose to mention in patch notes that it’s been fixed, but more often than not you’ll know it’s been fixed when you notice it’s working in-game.

This is not just affecting necklaces and the tier setting. I have a piece of Dreamsurge armor, converted to tier using the catalyst that cannot receive the Volcanic Sculptor socket upgrade. It appears all Dreamsurge equipment has the same issue. Q/A isn’t a priority at Blizzard anymore, nor speedy resolution.
