when you roll you are locked in the animation. rets can kick/hoj/blinding light on steed, mages blink is instant so they can instantly kick or db/nova w/e dhs dash is faster + they have a ranged kick. Hunters can trap/kick mid disengage. warriors can still use abilities like kick fear and storm bolt while charging. ITS NOT ABOUT THE DISTANCE. its about cancelling the animation so we can use our abilities to make plays, which other classes all have the luxury of using their abilities with their mobility WITHOUT IT BEING CLUNKY
Honestly I think this is a great change! It will help monks to guesstimate rather than using their 14 charges of roll willy nilly. If monks can cancel it then I want to cancel charge on my warrior. Monks have everything and a self heal to top it off (and themselves too)
Idk I’m with the widow on this one it seems like a higher skill cap to know the distance of roll and use it accordingly rather than to just roll from wherever and cancel
The distance is part of the skill cap, though. It’s like a hunter knowing exactly where he will land after a disengage, or a mage knowing just the right spot to blink to land CC

the idea of anyone maining monk through the removal of fist stun but not the removal of roll cancel is really funny to me. i’m old, i remember when roll distance based on jump timing was the only way you could get chi torpedo damage and still close gaps efficiently.
maybe there’s something i’m not seeing, but i didn’t mind temp shield being uncancellable and i don’t mind this either
I’m torn on this. Would it be a good change to let DH cancel a fel rush to stop where they want? If not then why is it good for monks? Different classes can have different strengths though.
imagine basing pvp changes off of what people who dont even pvp think, instead of people who are top of the ladder and pvp every day. you dont even know the significance of cancel roll. people in the video dont even main monk and they say its bad for the game.
