My mistake. Thank you for correcting.

The US is probably next. Canadians are now paying more than the US.

$21.99 CAD = $17.26 USD
Game time is still $15 in USA right? Why would Canadians have to pay $2.26 to play the same game?

That’s what happens with players buy an expansion but don’t stay subscribed.

It’s the middle of a pandemic, and I’m a broke college student who already feels like my sub fee is probably an unwise use of my money. A $5 increase is small, sure, but when you’re trying to stretch every penny, and you’re getting nothing extra for suddenly paying more, then it’s a decision maker. I’d rather spend that $22 on something else.

Edit: even if it’s just game time (which is odd), it’s a bad precedent, especially during a pandemic and right before Christmas, and a slippery slope. I’m a 13 year WoW vet, been playing Blizzard games since I was a kid (specifically WC2), and this is the final nail in the coffin for me. Vendored all my gear, gave away all my gold, deleted all my characters, and unsubbed. I wish no ill will towards anyone, but I’m out for good.

Hey, whatever.

I’ll just hop on down to my local EB Games and get 60 days of game time for $35 plus my discount. Toodles, battle.net!

Didn’t they stop selling those game time cards two years ago?

So care to explain why you are charging way more than the exchange rate? At this point just let me pay in USD. The last time the exchange rate was that high was 1999…

I checked EB store after this announcement and it’s still in stock.

Blizzard @ it with the “greedisgood 100000000”.

I’m all for paying a little more if you’re going to hire actual competent humans to deal with customer service. But instead you’re probably gonna lay more people off right before Christmas, aren’t ya?

Cool. Hopefully you use some of that extra money towards actually hiring some useful support staff. Your customer service is an absolute joke right now, in fact I don’t think you even have any.

Try submitting a ticket for an issue in game and see how long it takes to get a response. In fact, try even submitting a ticket, good luck with that - they’ve made it as difficult as possible to navigate through their ticket system because they are clearly overwhelmed and want to discourage people from submitting tickets.

On top of that I am very angry about the fact that it is apparently impossible to speak to a live person anymore - ESPECIALLY ABOUT BILLING ISSUES AND SERVICE REFUNDS. No I don’t want some canned response from a Game Master telling me they can’t do anything about the $75CAD I just wasted.

Not to mention how incredibly frustrating it is to go through a price increase 1 month after buying a product, it feels like I’ve been cheated by you guys.

True but not the point, they’re trying to make extra money off some people putting off or forgetting to end their sub and accidentally going over the date. It’s the same trick “free trials” use when they ask for your credit card.

I imagine US prices will follow at some point.

Australia pricing was upped to make them pay the same as USA, how come Canada has to pay $3 more? Seems odd. At least tokens are worth more I guess.

Why didn’t it occur to you to maybe reduce the subscription prices during a global pandemic…? or, if you raise them, provide benefits for non-WoW games?? it’s already absurd MMOs are still 15/mo for a single game’s access. when this loses you subscribers what’s the play here?

I will now delete my account. This does not add up and I will not stand for it.

Sub remains the same, it’s the game time that people buy with balance. So a recurring sub will still be at 18.99 (I imagine 'till they change it like last time, not to mention will increase price of vanity items too lol like last time)

Try Grim Dawn is a really fun game and is always on sale.

I suspect they’re trying this to test the waters with a global raise of WoW’s cost.

I’m pretty sure most people are on a subscription (or on the WoW token) not on game time. I also assume most WoW players are not Canadian.

So that makes a small amount of people to test the waters for a 22$ subscription.
