i am willing to pay up to $30ish USD to play as i would still feel the value of it. my wife is canadian and pays a canadian sub and mentioned this to me. if it went above that idk if i’d pay it though.
I’m gonna be honest but the US population is probably not as large as people tend to think it is. There probably won’t be that much outrage.
Either that or blizzard would pump out alot of store mounts which it feels like Americans feel very apt to pay immediately for.
the game’s price hasn’t increased with inflation. it’s actually cheaper now to play than it was in 2004. anyone who cries about a small price increase… good riddance.
What are we paying for? Server maintenance? That doesn’t cost them 22 bucks a month Canadian per user.
The development? What’s with the cost of the expansion itself then?
The content? You mean less content now than any other expansion, and the content we have is all gated to prevent you from spending much time in it.

you pay to access the servers. you own nothing. not even the mounts you bought from the store. blizz can ban you at any time for any reason. those are the things that should upset you, not that the price was raised slightly.

the only country that pays more per month for wow than the US is new zealand. aussies just threw a fit that they aren’t paying 3rd world country prices for their subs anymore.

its funny cuz my wife is canadian and pays a canadian sub. i’ve let her put my debit card on her account to buy her gifts and stuff and its significantly cheaper in US dollars to buy her stuff that way than to gift it to her paying USD.

most subs are american and asian. literally every single aussie and candian could rage unsub forever and it wouldn’t change much of anything. there’s a reason there’s not canadian servers. and why there’s only one really populated aussie server. they don’t even have an rp server for cripes sake.
WoW is publicly traded, they aren’t running that show as a charity.
As much as it sucks (i’m canadian) i’ll take that over them doubling down on store stuff and other shenanigans.
