Can you all stop with the P2W "argument"? Let's debate

So they got the gallywix books to try and see if RMT is happening, then banned gallywix because the were going a bit ham on the RMT, and that’s encouraging buying boosts? How do you arrive at that?

The constructive knowledge gathered from the Gallywix boosting community spreadsheets is reinforced through structures in-game:

Not gathering knowledge of RMT - gathering the activity of the player base’s boosting P2W habituation, and how to reinforce said structures. Weekly Vaults/Chests are not by design a way to provide “gear protection” in an RNG based system/game; but a design by which to continue reinforcing P2W player agency boosting competitive advantages. PvP gear tied to rating is by design and structure a way to reinforce P2W player agency boosting competitive advantages.

wut? How does the system encourage you to buy a run rather than run it yourself?

“Pay-to-win features include making available for purchase assistance, advantages, or other awards that a reasonable user would perceive provides a competitive advantage”

Competitive advantage. Path of least resistance. Psychology.

To be honest, I’ve run with worse than boosted players.
As long as they are willing to listen and learn, I don’t much care overall actually.

So if any game that has some form of “competitive advantage” that can be purchased is P2W, then literally every multi-player game with any kind of competitive aspect that isn’t just 1v1 is P2W.

Your position to me sounds like “I find M+/raiding for gear to be hard, and it’s easier to pay someone else to do it for me than to try and do it myself, therefore it’s pay to win.”

Please, explain yourself. I’m going to require more detailed reasoning behind your statement.

Outside of pure 1v1 games, You can almost always get an advantage by paying 1 or more other people of greater skill to queue with you on the same team and carry the team. Under your listed definition, that makes any game where that statement is true P2W.

Why is that so hard to grasp? Every game nowadays pretty much is p2w… or at least many are.

Sounds like you just reasoned it out for yourself:

You are what S.1629 refers to as a “reasonable user”.

That is why:

This is probably related to differences in how we see the game.

  1. I don’t classify having gear as winning.
  2. If you got an achievement for getting a kill while you were dead on the floor all fight, I don’t consider that as having beaten the boss.

Given that I got all my mythic gear by not purchasing it, in no way does that mean you have an advantage by making a purchase.

mild self own there…

If you want to ignore the fact that the weekly chest for M+/challenge modes pre-dated them banning gallywix by at least 3 years, sure…

I stumbled on a Liquid related thread on reddit which had an Image of the new promotion.
They are Buying Tier set pieces+ other loot for up to 10 Million Gold.
This is to aid with Raid progression.

Has anyone else checked this out?, quite a professional advertisement too.
Maybe someone could post the IMG here.

If no one bought boosts there wouldnt be any communities.

Blizzard have made it easier to buy boosts via tokens but the demand came from the playbase.

Kangmurloc, I wonder if you are having the same laughter I am on the inside at these few piloting, RMT, and boosting incognito threads “Blizzard will I get banned if I use virtual machine emulation with VPN - as that’s why my MAC & IP address login locations are changing”

Next they’ll figure out that switching out your motherboard and installing a new motherboard causes a MAC address change. Then they’ll be on here proclaiming they changed their motherboard and use a VPN and that’s why their login changed to a different MAC & IP address…And we’ll be seeing a few incognito threads “asking for a friend” about it.

Blizzard needs to ban boosting in every way, shape, and form.

True, this game is p2w.

I have suggested this year(s) back.
They could just set up an official classified section for carries/achievements.
A safer cleaner option which would help solve some major issues and most importantly increase revenue for all parties involved.

Can players use real money to bypass progression in game?

Yes ? p2w
No? not p2w

So , you can buy tokens with real money then buy a buy a boosts from players and Blizzard employees themselves to bypass months of progression and grinding . If the token did not exist then players would be doing RMT to get the gold or break account sharing rules to get what they want which is not supported by Blizzard .Right now through the token no such rule is broken and Blizzard fully supports it therefore its p2w .

The end - NEXXXTTT
