Can you add the four allied races?

Never mind guys. This one dude doesn’t want it to lets screw [checks notes] 1.5 million players.

It wouldn’t make sense. The shadowlands races are souls in the realm of death. They wouldn’t work in the realm of the living. It’s bad enough they retconned the dread lords to be creations of a death titan, but at least they are creations and not souls like the 4 races of the covenants.

as a dark iron, i would love to see a blue flame beard to go with my deathknight asthetic

I think there is a 99% chance the 4 covenants will join us post SL. Blizzard put way too much work into both male and female models for both for it night to happen.

Remember the veil has been shattered and Kyrian and Mawsworn already have the means to to travel to the mortal realms/Azeroth. It makes total sense that whatever bigger and dire problem post Jailer (likely something void and/or light themed) would ALSO be something of concern for each respective covenant and/or it would be their way to repay us for saving the shadowlands by allowing fledgling adventurers from their realm to aid us.

Plus let’s be real…this is also recycled content that has the potential for massive time investments/payoffs for next to no work.

At this point, I would be far more surprised to see Blizzard NOT take advantage and add the 4 covenants as allied races.

Both of these things are canonically false, roughly half of the SL races aren’t “Dead souls” and Maldraxxians have returned to the living planes on recon and assassination missions, this was shown in their cutscenes and other covenant specific events. All other races are shown compatible with Maldraxxian bodies via the body plant when they brought back parts from assaults on other zones and used them to make better stitchwork Abominations.

Then how come my mount (gotten from SL) and other creatures from the Shadowlands “the afterlife” can leave the SL even though they have existed only in the SL. So how come they can leave? Why am I seeing these SL glad mounts and Korthia mounts in the land of the living? They don’t belong there…

I would like to see Sethrak and other mortal Azerothian races be playable first. :woman_shrugging:

Unless those races somehow get more lore in the current expansion, I don’t see that happening. The story currently centers on the covenants and their denizens.

I’m not opposed to those races by any means, more is always welcome.

So far there is some for the Sethrak.

I’m sure they could squeeze these races into the factions but another human-looking race for the Alliance?

Hey, if we get Sylvar/Vorkai on the Alliance, another human is a small price to pay. I’d love to play a Vorkai. Pity it’d wind up being Sylvar, but maybe their Druid travel form could be Vorkai or something.

Simple, it’s for “playability”.

It’s like when you wonder why the Lightforged Draenei can be Priest Shadow, it’s just “playability”.

So why can hunters tame animals from the Shadowlands and bring them out of it? No real, ‘playability,’ factor there since there are plenty of existing hunter pets to choose from. If things from the Shadowlands can’t leave it, Hunters shouldn’t be able to tame anything from the Shadowlands.

I was hoping one of the 9.1.5 toys was a Fae disguise like the Acolyte’s guise for this reason… nope we got faerie wings…

Huh thats interesting, I would actually settle for a toy that gives you the appearance of the races from the Shadowlands too.

Blizzard would just have to NOT ruin them like they do with every, ‘transform into X race,’ by making it a five minute buff on an hour cooldown.

I’m did you miss the entire part of the story where the only reason we can go back and forth is because of our heart of azeroth, you know a relic of the first ones type of thing. Your confusing the maw with the shadowlands anyways. Our mounts were always able to be rode in everywhere except the maw or indoors in shadowlands.

It’s a toy not a race change. Always been that way.

Well mounts can’t be ridden indoors anywhere in WoW really now can they. But that doesn’t explain why we can take the new mounts we get from Shadowlands that are SL creatures created in the SL and only have ever been in the SL can come into the world of the living and let us ride them. There are many flaws in this lore stuff, if nothing can leave the Shadowlands, then no mounts should be obtainable from SL or having hunters being able to tame SL creatures to be pets and leave SL.

I’m confused now what a toys? I’m talking abotu mounts and hunter pets that are obtainable from the Shadowlands.
