Everything people are saying to discount Worgen Paladins is just headcanon lol.
You might take a looksee at New Hearthglenn.
They have death knights, brother.
The death knights with no lore beyond being there, who are not at New Hearthglen but around Frostmourne Cavern, and, most importantly, are not part of the Scarlet Crusade. They are the Scarlet Onslaught.
A silly distinction to made, perhaps, but one that is fairly vital. The Onslaught is so corrupt and fanatically twisted that they have been convinced the shadow magic wielded by the Raven Priests is the Holy Light, and if their death knights were to be more fleshed out, it would likely be similar.
Yeah the Scarlet Onslaught was literally run by a Dreadlord. I donāt think anything they did counts.
They have the lore of serving the Scarlet Crusade after it was publicly outed for having been a demon pawn being used against the Light as humans intone it.
The death knights were never part of the Scarlet Crusade. They were founded in Northrend by Malāganis as part of the Scarlet Onslaught, which trippled down on the corruption amidst their ranks. To no small degree because of Malāganisā wielding a much more effective control over the ranks of the Onslaught, unlike Balnazzar who secreted himself away in the ruins of Stratholme, and by the Onslaught itself being formed by the Crusadeās most zealous fanatics.
They were members of the Scarlet Crusade that rebranded at the Onslaught after the player Death Knight destroys their fort.
This occurs after the Scarlet Crusade is outed as demonspawn demon pawns.
They were fully aware of their crimes and chose to be Scarlet Crusade.
They employed unholy magic.
If the Scarlet Crusade and Onslaught can have paladins, Worgen can have paladins based on your given criteria for being capable of paladinhood.
The Scarlet Crusade and Onslaught both suffer from these qualities.
Were, Brigitte Abbendis explicitly declares the Scarlet Crusade a dead organisation and that the Scarlet Onslaught will carry its torch onwards to victory in Northrend. They are not the same.
It doesnāt. While the Argent Dawn knew of Balnazzarās presence in Classic, he wasnāt outed until Cata when he outed himself and slew the remaining crusaders in Stratholme and raised them as the Risen.
They believe their ācrimesā are justified deeds done to purify the unclean.
And they were twisted into believing this unholy magic was Light magic.
Thatās why I made the distinction between paladin the class and Paladin of the Silver Hand, the latter is possible but unlikely given worgen lore. The curse amplifies the bad traits of a Paladin in a way that no paladin in either the Crusade or Onslaught ever felt.
They suffer from paranoia, fear, xenophobia but not doubt. Their doubt is erased by their utter conviction that they are doing what is right.
I donāt think the class fantasy of a paladin/holy knight and the fantasy of a worgen/werewolf are compatible.
The most logical explanation would be that the Silver Hand simply doesnāt recruit worgen.
Theyāre fearsome beasts. A Paladin is not supposed to be fearsome.
This sounds a little more āI made-it-up-in-my-headā and less like thereās anything you can point at to support that.
This was said about worgen Monks as well. In the ten real-world years between Mists and patch 10.0.2 some have had time for the training and discipline to become Monks. Funny enough, thereās another class that deeply values training and discipline.
Iād say someone riding a warhorse in full plate armor and wielding a giant glowing war hammer whilst smiting enemies with fire from afar would generally be categorized as fearsome.
This was the reason given why worgens couldnt be monks and look how that turned out.
Just give every race paladins and 90% of the āI want this race/class comboā threads will stop.
Itās always paladins.
Donāt forget druids. Oh and death knights. Earthen not being able to be death knights caused a huge stink on general.
Wellā¦ itās also true about worgen monks as well!
Nah, itās a different kind of fearsome.
You couldnāt make a horror movie with that.
Itās depicted clearly in both Curse of the Wolf and Wolfheart. These are near crippling issues the cursed Gilneans have to deal with on a regular basis.
Which is why thereās an inherent need, as I stated in that very common, to differentiate between the class of paladin and Paladins of the Silver Hand. The former, no issues, the latter, a bit more of an issue.
Just call worgen paladins Knights of Goldrinn and problem solved
Only issue Iād see is what their holy mount would be for that charge ability of theirs. Suppose you could just make them do running wild but glowing yellow like a Super Sayian buff.
This right here
I remember when paladin were muscle Chads that disliked the undead
The Worgen paladin mount is another worgen.
Randomly, your character will be the one being ridden instead.
This would be so badass. I need this to be the case for Worgen Paladins.
