Can We Turn off Cross Faction BGs Please

I know they added this and gave everyone cute lil face mask to make BGs faster. However I just don’t want to play as Horde. 3 times today I was put as Horde and just gonna leave everyone of these BGs from here. I didn’t sign up for it. I play Alliance for a reason. Furthermore it’s usually a bad loss. Everything about it feels bad and not why I pay for a sub.

I rather wait in Que and get a fresh BG as Alliance. Thanks.

PS - However by all means keep it going for players that don’t mind but have a little NPC where you OPT in for it. That way if you like it go ahead. However leave everyone else out that doesn’t enjoy it.

This is another example of why blocking needs to also delist their threads.

Drastic, but I see the point.

What is probably happening is alliance was running premade and/or twink heavy. Horde stopped signing up.

I’ve been there leveling horde too. At some you go maybe these dudes will call it a night in an hour lol. And you go pve an hour.

And match maker is breaking it up same faction. I have seen this on alliance levelers.

If you check the roster of your now horde team you hope you got the good gear players. It is then horde finally wins one lol.

Or you see alliance kept the good core players and go…well at least this is gonna be a fast loss.

Rift had the solution over a decade ago.

when you queued, the parts fighting in the BG were completely neutral from horde-alliance, and you entered the game in whichever side needed players.

I’ve wanted this since I even started retial end legion/bfa start.

the classic Red vs. blue…works.

I really don’t care if the healer is a blood elf or a night elf. They are getting dropped only because they are a healer really.

this games doesn’t even have friendly fire. SO no worries about killing blues even. That blue blood elf is safe from the blue human fire mage.

what Classic+ needs:

  1. collision detection.
  2. friendly fire.

This is all at max level.

I’m not sure if it’s drastic. I know what I like and I just believe in the faction separation as part of my experience. If I wanted to play Horde I would have created Horde toons. So having a simple NPC too give you control over this feature I don’t think is asking for too much.

I much rather have a 10 min Que and be Alliance instead of a 3 min Que.

It be more than 10 minutes. This is why retail got a dedicated merc mode.

Alliance was popping quick, horde was waiting 40 minutes. At least up to SL. Not there much for DF but I believe the merc mode is more to “save” horde numbers now. as many went (back) to Human potential lol.

Why? 40 alliance players straight out of say ashran picked up the next 40 horde in line.

Now if the horde players was 321 in line, they worst case wait for 8 epics to run and get the 9th one.

Now I do like your bit about optional. But will the “no more retail” changers take a retail merc mode idea well?

Again I have never used Merc mode in Retail. Nor do I want to do that.

Yea it’s all I’m saying. I don’t think I should be penalized with this mode when I didn’t sign up or opt for it. I can just leave BGs for now when I’m Horde. It’s my solution.

in classic and early tbc classic BG queues were often 45min-90min or more. Because PVPers will always gravitate to the side with better racials (in those xpacs it was Horde, now it is Ally)

so, no thanks.

I understand why they added it. Because populations dipped at that time. However I don’t think asking for an NPC where players want to opt out of this is bad at all. Seems like a win/win.

I didn’t read that fully and i agree that is a good idea for those who accept the long queues
