Can we please stagger major patches better between classic and retail?

This is to help people who play both retail and classic. I know it’s too late, but starting next expansions, it would keep me more consistently subscribed and less burned out if:
Retail and classic major expansions were spaced about 3 months from each other. They currently seem to be about 1 month from each other. I would rather have the chance to throughly farm each major patch in both retail and classic without having to pick between the two. People naturally get burned out from the major patches/seasons after a few months, so this would follow the patterns many players already tend to follow.

I’m not understanding why WoW classic and WoW retail are competing with each other in the first place, followed by the last few months of a season being dry and content less on BOTH retail and classic. Why stay subbed?

I think this just makes more sense from almost every perspective.

Thanks.

WotLK is still a raid logging expansion. I play WotLK and FF14, and it feels like Blizzard launches patches on FF14 dates on purpose xD, but it’s fine because both games don’t require daily chores to complete to stay relevant.

Also, that would really inflate the WotLK time. Imagine being locked in the ToC patch until February because we couldnt launch ICC 3 months prior or after 10.2.

Attention and time is a finite resource. Its up to you to decide which is more important. You can wait to play the ICC patch until February if you want, it will still be here.

I’m not sure why we would imagine that though. Instead imagine a schedule where ICC is release 3 months before 10.2. Instead of doing ICC for 4 weeks, then trying to do both ICC AND 10.2 at the same time.

The stagger would start next cycle.

Blizzard isn’t going to delay retail in favor of classic. There are way more players in retail than classic. So if anyone is going to get their schedule delayed, it’s going to be classic.

If anything, I was surprised how early they released ICC. I was expecting a December release of ICC.

I mean probably not, but for the next expansions, they should just release whichever is ready first, then delay the other by 3 months.

You are still limiting each game to two content patches a year assuming a 50/50 split. And then don’t forget about Season of Mastery/Hardcore/Era. So maybe 2 content patches for retail, one for classic, and one for era?

They should probably also consider people like Diablo, Overwatch, and Hearthstone.

I mean the new D4 Season just released this week. We should delay Wow even more.

We should also consider when Call of Duty is released as well.

Now that Microsoft owns Activision, when’s the next Halo update? Maybe Forza?

Man the content schedule is getting pretty tight.

Maybe you’re right, what is it then, every 4-5 months? Point is still that the retail and classic patch launches are too near each other.

Nah it’s fine to forget about SoM/Hardcore/Era.
