Title says it all. I always roll on RP servers and really like the extra layer of immersion they bring to my gameplay. That being said in Classic I really wanna roll on a PvP server. I’d like to get the best of both worlds, but from what I know Blizzard hasn’t said anything on if they’ll make a PvP-RP server.

This could be one of those topics they may be flexible on though, if enough support is voiced. At least eventually…

I just think it’s kind of ridiculous. Sure RP-PvP server were never as popular as normal RP servers. But this is Classic, this is where world PvP is at it’s height. A lot of people are going to want to experience this including roleplayers.

Purely conjecture here, but the Classic hype has likely been louder and larger than originally expected. I am sure there will be more realms at startup than had been considered a couple months ago. For that reason, I would be surprised if they didn’t have at least 1 PVP-RP server.

Regardless, I would prefer to roll on a pvp rp realm as well.
Ion said they weren’t planning on a PVP-RP realm to start because they were not very popular back in Vanilla. He said it was too niche to warrant a server. That was a few months ago - and I think things have changed.
Did they even have them at launch in Vanilla? I can’t remember.
I do know that when Emerald Dream launched, it was highly popular.
I’m not the biggest of a RP’r, but I have found the communities to be about the best possible so I try my best.

They said its too niche. People need to show support to highlight that its not.
At launch, no. At 1.12, definitely.
He said it again in the Dev interviews, three or four weeks ago.

I checked that out. Unfortunate. Ion may be the boss, but I don’t think he ever fully understood the WoW customer base. His thoughts are strongly filtered through his own preferences and biases. We all do that of course; but in his role he needs to broaden his perspective on what is fun.

I don’t disagree, but the same person who confirmed months ago that it was “niche” repeated it at the beta launch, so unless people make a lot of noise, I don’t think it’ll happen.
Could you perhaps find or create a petition?
Someone should do a change.org petition.
I would sign that. I never played on an RP server, due to some horror stories from a couple friends who had, but I would give this a go.
Role-playing can get… interesting.
