Can we move Oceantic in w/ Americas for PvP?

Hi team,

Think it’s time to move Oceanic in with the Americas for PvP, as right now we have a 20 min queue for 2s ,so makes it a bit hard to play during the day.

Realise our ping will be impacted but at least we’ll be able to game.

You must have a short memory.

They did this for a while, and everyone complained so they changed it back.

Hi sir, no I remember, it was a time when servers were quite busy, now they are quiet. That’s why I said “I think it’s time”

Nope, they did this and it was the right call and OCE lost their minds.

You reap what you sow my friend

Elron and co literally dont play any more

Stunk up the game for the rest of us and then bailed. Absolutely standard

To be fair I didn’t say anything ;] I’m sure a lot of people didn’t.

I always find this kind of reply kind of weird though. Are you saying changes can never be reverted if the community makes a mistake? Like… ever?

I wasn’t able to play any arenas on Saturday evening because people with social lives were out having fun  so just bumping this in hopes Blizzard sees it and potentially makes changes come next phase. It would be really great to be able to participate in PvP.

You must have zero memory. There was no period of time when OCE and US Servers battlegroups were merged.

just do it already… (:

Would be much welcome, current state/pop/level of Oceanic battleground is embarrassing ,with impossible paek only Arena queues, 2wsg going at 5pm and no AB or EOS queue outside of “BG weekends”.
The nolifers who cried for 20ping at the time of the merger are done with TBC, lets just have all more fun with 100ping and who cares.

Heya Blizzard, would be great to get your opinion here. Would it be something you consider next patch? It’s 6PM Sunday and no 2s games are available.

I played a little bit on a US server. My ping multiplied by a factor of 10, and I routinely died because I couldn’t time my heals / stuns properly.

Why on earth anybody would want that as a baseline for competitive PvP is beyond me. If you like it, then you can always transfer or re-roll to a US server but don’t force it on the rest of us.

Transfer to US server is a bad idea. They would have to forgo the ability to raid at evening time.

A stable 170ms ping is not too bad. At least OC ppl can play the game. Right now PVP BGs would not pop unless it’s prime time

The issue is it isn’t. They pair OCE up with east coast servers, and even when it’s west coast it’s unstable. It’s not like the old days when you could connect to blackrock with a stable 170-200ms ping and work around it, something with the way they instance now just screws it up.

If this isn’t resolved by S3 I wouldn’t be surprised if the remaining oce pvp players all just quit. It’s been on life support for months now.

Agreed. Unfortunately that is completely not my experience playing US servers from Australia. Mine was constantly fluctuating from 250 - 450.

Mine’s ~230ms whenever i played on NA servers

I think therein lies the problem for merged Oceanic-US battlegroups. It’s playable for some users but not for others. The results are too varied and unreliable to create a use case.

Queues suck but at least everybody can meaningfully play at the end of it.

Oceanic servers didn’t even exist at one point and we did just fine.

One of our better PvPers, Spacerat (and friends), plays on a US PvP server because our PvP community is barren.

If we need to choose between ping and actually having a PvP community and opportunity to play. I pick community.

So why don’t you transfer to US instead of forcing your gameplay preferences on other people who don’t share your perspective?
