Can we keep the current paladin talent tree next patch pls?

I’ve just gotten on the PTR and these new modifications just flat out make the old talent tree (currently on retail) way better than this new 11.0.5 one. There is no world where blessing of dusk nerfed and zealots paragon and vengeful wrath costing 2 points instead of 1 is good, and we lose the 4 % haste, with the 1/2 sec cd reduction on judgement. Not only that but were losing blessing of spellwarding, the freedom on steed is awful. We lose justification so 10% nerf to judgement. We lose 30 sec hoj cd for a 45 sec one.

We only get more healing (not useful with mortal strikes effect in pvp and dampening nerfing the healing of those talents, which is going to make them underperfom or be very reliant on group combat, which no other class is so group reliant to use its toolkit) And we get forced to take yet again a bad talent that heals for 78k when we use a 5-1(2)-25 sec cd ability and another 78k when it ends. which tbh it doesn’t really have any use apart from making freedom heal for 150k overall when used (less than a blade of justice worth of dmg).

We still keep spellward and hoj is 30 sec

they said they were changing those soon. They are on the PTR right now but they aren’t suppose to make it past the PTR.

Unless things change they running out of time. That patch is supposed to go live next week if I’m correct.

i wonder when the season will end then, because there isn’t a single gladiator player after all this time because they aren’t even looking at how bad pvp is doing right now and every multiglad player is at duelist or even rival. Imagine if they end the season and only rank 1s get to have gladiator.

We will ultimately have to wait and see. We are going to be broken, but we won’t know if it’s in a good way or bad way.

From looking at the PTR change log, I think we will be better off with the changes compared to what we have now.

  • Blessing of Sacrifice being auto-cast when someone is below 35% is a major QOL change that sounds like it will work off of GCD.
    • There’s also another talent that synergizes with Blessing of Sacrifice to remove and prevent players from getting poisoned or diseased. This allows us to remove 2 poisons if needed.
  • The change to Turn Evil making it an instant cast is major for Prot. Yes, it’s very niche, but having it on a hard-cast made it completely useless while tanking before. I can see this being very strong in certain dungeons.
  • New Talent: Lightbringer seems very strong as well. 10% of healing done to you also heals the rest of the group.
    • This is pretty massive because it includes all of the healing you need from the healer and any self healing you generate from leech and WoG.
  • New Talent: Inspired Guard increases healing taken by 15% while AD or GoAK is active which synergizes well with Lightbringer talent.
  • New Talent: Light’s Revocation allows us to use Divine Shield while we have forbearance which is pretty massive.
    • Now, Holy Paladins can actually use their LoH on us without worrying about us being able to bubble or not. We can also use LoH on ourselves without worrying about bubble as well.
  • Judgement CD is being reduced by 1s which means more Holy Power generation.
  • Lightsmith New Talent: Authoritative Rebuke is pretty big. Whenever we interrupt a spellcast our Rebuke CD is reduced by 1s and 2s with Holy Armament active.
    • This doesn’t seem big, but with all the interrupts we do with Avenger’s Shield, Rebuke, and Divine Toll we will be able to interrupt even more.
      • This synergizes well with Punishment talent by casting extra Blessed Hammers.
  • Word of Glory is increased by 20%
  • Shield of the Righteous damage is increased by 20%
  • Base armor increased by 10%
  • Blessed Hammer CD reduced by 10%
  • Armor from Shield of the Righteous increased by 10%

Idk, all of these point to good changes.

To all of this I would but add 2 things.

  • When all throughput nodes are taken, you’re left with 4-5 points to spare pretty much where you want.
  • Whilst the capstone are still all available (which was always odd compared to all other classes), they don’t all warrant being taken to make you accomplish your role any better. (if that makes sense)

This is a massive improvement on current tree which is pretty much locked at 1 “free” point to choose more utility.

i mean we wanted less throughput in the class tree and we got it, and lot of those removed throughputs are getting baked into the class itself. judgement got its cd reduced as well.

overal good changes :dracthyr_shrug:

Joke’s on bethesda I don’t use any of those talents.

edit: Now that I read down the list of changes. A lot of the “bonuses” are more like them fixing unfinished work.

  1. The cooldown reduction to blessed hammer is to smooth out the rotation not help damage.
  2. Extra interrupts? Meh… other classes do it for us and faster.
  3. 10% armor and 10% more shield of the righteous are band-aids over the burlap sack they call plate armor.
  4. Judgement cooldown is nice for pvp but now it’ll be too fast for late-game rotations.
  5. Inspired guard only helps you when your damage reduction cooldowns are active making it situational and counterproductive.
  6. Lightbringer looks bonkers OP w/LoH and gives paladins another must have raid ability.
  7. Turn evil change was a must for pvp. Now paladins have a tool vs warlocks/deathknights.
  8. Blessing of Sacrifice change is a MASSIVE admission by Bliz they are tuning end-game around that spell and not enough people were using it. Removing anything from GCD is a carrot on a stick.

i cant believe a pain point is

like bro, what?

Simple answer, no.

if you use sac talent your not a r1 player. That thing is awful and nobody that is even decent would pick it. To pick turn evil you lose dmg or defensives so you cant pick it at all. Lightbringer is either broken or awful so it’s gonna either get nerfed to the ground or not be picked in pvp.
inspired guard is the only good thing but it is needed because Divine protection doesn’t even count as a wall in pvp. always died trough it. Light revocation should be baseline with how they changed the flow of the game.

  • Judgement CD is being reduced by 1s which means more Holy Power generation. is just gonna make it the same then because we lose the 1 sec from the talent were losing.
  • lightsmith doesn’t apply to ret.
  • Avenger shield doesn’t work in pvp.
  • Word of glory increased by 20% is meaningless with the 80% nerf of Word of glory on allies in pvp and the 50% for prot paladin pvp talent.
  • SoV damage damage never even mattered apart from cheese one shot.
  • base armor increased by 10% doesn’t give us any more than we already have because we lose 10% from Blessing of dusk.
  • Blessed hammer doesn’t apply to ret.
  • Sotr doesn’t apply to ret.

thx for your infos but they are all useless and trying to badly fill what were losing.

So using sac to pre-break a Poly, Hex ornjust flat free damage reduction to a party when cloned is not R1 playstyle? Sac is pretty important at hight rating…

The CD reduction of Blessed Hammer is to increase Holy Power generation.

No class interrupts better than us. It also increases our Blessed Hammer generation via synergy talent.

Also increases Holy Power generation. It is not going to be “too fast”.

  1. I’m not a rank 1 player.
  2. I play with pugs not 5-stack teams, which means I need to use Sacrifice more to cover mechanical failures and to pick up healing deficits.
  3. Any smart pug tank will take sac because it can make or break a run.

I literally said it was niche, meaning specific dungeons.

I’m speaking strictly in terms of PvE and Prot spec. You should have figured that out pretty early on.

You can speak for yourself in that doomy corner you got going.

The rework is good but very boring. I’d rather see some niche things like exorcism added to the class tree.

Moving away from active / modifier abilities in class tree as seen with rogue, hunter, and now pally diminishes build variety and fun factor.

The best class trees are warrior, druid, priest, and dk - flavorful, useful, and fun.

Nobody is talking about PvP. PvP is a minigame with less total players than pet battling.

Like the ladies will tell you, it’s all about the rythm.

lmao that’s hilarious, but probably true.

I haven’t seen any blues saying hij won’t be 30 sec and that were losing bosw

Its a trap talent. You dont sac someone that low you sac them high.

The new tree is full of trap “qol” talents
