Yes lets. When we get there, I’m sure you’ll be crying to skip to Cata after a week. No thanks.

I honestly am in no rush, SWP was one of the great raids in wow history, looking forward to having some challenges and fun this phase.

Very true. I honestly dont think classic has beem as succesful as we think. No idea for sure though. Just feel like they are trying to kill it off. There could be other reasons. I am sure thre are retail developer egos at play.

Mostly though, the changes in cata are not that far off from retail. Main difference being the older graphics. But the dumbing down of the game was in full force throughout cata and there isnt much in cata that you wouldnt be better off getting in retail

I think Classic has been way more successful than we think. There’s 321k logs last week (and BT has been out for a while) . That doesn’t even represent the total pop that doesn’t raid or log. Most online games would kill for that many people playing. Classic has been an insane success and amazingly low cost too. I do think that more money is made when a new expansion launches though (boosts and other paid services) which is why I think we will see Cata.

I would play it, but only if most of the stuff that is closer to retail is removed. If they keep LFD out (and of course LFR) as well as transmog, the gutted talent trees, etc., I could give it a shot. The first tier with harder heroics and the great raids was awesome.

Of course there will be… They will keep going until people stop paying

Classic Mop early 2024, bank on it

Some people’s inability to detect sarcasm is astounding.

Folks, the OP is very obviously poking fun at those who keep wishing to speed things along and skip ahead to the next patch, the next phase of content, the next expansion.

Wonder how many will just take a break from the game until WotLK, especially those on lower-population servers.

We can just skip to Shadowlands anytime we want.

Probably a lot especially once people clear SWP. There will be a lot of guilds falling apart and others picking up those players who want to keep going, and this is probably going to be a hot topic on the forums. It’s sad but this happens every time. It could be worse for the smaller servers.

Yes they have a lot of players. That isnt what i mean though. Its successful for giving people something to do but i am refering to the bottom line for sales.

I am thinking that they added classic servers and a lot of the ppl that logged into them are players that already pay for retail. So yes, its being played. But all they did was add content and not getting additional subs. But i have no idea.

Actually, they did more than just add content.

They added a way to stop the bleed from that disaster Shadowlands and give those who wanted to continue to play wow a different way of doing it and thus subscriptions still continue.

Not sure how much in “sales” they made but the shareholders love reoccurring subscription revenue over one-time sales. Why do you think so many things are going “subscription” these days.

Actually not true. They were fine seeing the subs decline over the past few expansions while they made record high revenue.

Cash shops are where the money is. The subscription model has been around forever and has always been prefered to the one time sale. But they were both before cash shops. The smartest have both. Games like wow and iracing have sunscriptions but then also charge the players for content.

They are ok losing 2 subs as long as they keep that 3rs one that also buys from the cash shop more than what the 2 lost subs were paying. Ppl like me just do the sub and will never use cash shop. Well almost never, i did buy the boost. And if they put lfd back in wotlk ill be buying another boost. If not, they will have to make a choice. Keep the one sub that hates cash shops. Or lose my sub plus the boost purchase i was going to pay. Lets see how smart they are and if they really are trying to keep classic succesful.

I think you’re right in a way, that by having Classic they have more WoW subs. Not just from people who are tired of Shadowlands (and Classic started way before Shadowlands) but in general.

They got my sub back with Classic existing, I was loyal enough with my sub to be mailed the 10-year veteran statue but sometime after that I started to just play the new expansions for a little bit and unsub after. That’s because I haven’t really been satisfied with the direction of Retail. Other people are the same, many of my guildies for example only play Classic.

Still in a lot of ways Blizzard does seem to value microtransactions over monthly subscriptions.

time flies, In no time you’ll see Wrath.
then it will feels like Swp was yesterday
