Most of us who played on RP-PVP realms during the original run of classic WoW can vouch for how special the communities and experiences were. It baffles me that we aren’t allowed to experience this a second time around.
RP in Discord
We tried with the short window we had. They ignored it.
Regardless of how polite and informative we were, they gave the very loud and rude (not all folks) to OCE, which is now suffering because it was given last minute.
That’s the same thing that happend to Chaos Bolt, though Chaos Bolt was actually on the upswing as far as population when they nuked it for being “Too low pop for our vision of SoD/Classic”.
Chaos Bolt was definitely on an upswing once people saw how garbage Crusader Strike was
The original RP-PVP servers like Emerald Dream were the best in the game for fun outside of progression raiding (which was not the greatest, hard to recruit for).
No servers had better World PVP, and they didn’t have it for as long. Someone might remember that all Rogue guild on both factions that you could hire to kill a character (in game, obviously) and they had a whole elaborate process to find them to set it up and pay them. That’s the stuff you get on RP-PVP and it can be epic.
It seems like in Classic though that these servers just aren’t popular and I’m not exactly sure why. It seems like Blizzard wants to reduce the server counts to the smallest feasible to run the game, and RP-PVP didn’t make their cut which is a shame.
They don’t like RPers, pretty obvious.
