Oh… yea that makes sense, sorry.
An alliance prince killed 90% of us and the Alliance tried to kill the rest of us. Joining with the Alliance is smart! - high elves.
Okay I’m a programmer. I’m going to take a guess and assume that adding new textures is a quick task, like 5 minutes or less each. The code is probably already written it just needs to be one more option inserted into whatever data structure they use and changing a few numerical variables.
It’s probably so easy an intern can do it.
An undead prince even the blood elves can make that distinction, and the alliance gave shelter to the high elves after the scourge invasion.
But lets join the horde who ravaged our lands just a few years prior to the undead weakening our defenses so Arthas had an easier time invading. On top of that lets join the faction that named their capital city after Orc that lead that invasion.
I thought that the High Elves renamed themselves Blood Elves when they decided to avenge themselves of all the screwed up betrayals and stuff done to them. Look up Blood Elves in Wowpedia.
Blood Elf players get upset because you keep getting more and more of what the Horde race is. You call them greedy for not sharing and not allowing fun.
You then want to change almost everything that is Void Elves into High Elves but don’t care about the players who love their void Elves and their fun.
Hypocrites.
Umm where were the Alliance during the invasion? Oh yeah, they said nah you take care of it. The one’s who actually sheltered them? The Forsaken and the Horde.
That lore doesn’t matter because it hurts their thoughts of High Elves. That’s why they try to make Blood Elves look like mutated monsters and focus on the small amount of named High Elves that help out here and there.
Blood Elves are closer to High Elves than Void Elves ever will be and those Alliance High Elves are exactly the same as Blood Elves, just different views.
I feel void Elves should get new idle animations, jump etc. Nightborne aren’t a copy/paste model and they don’t share animations.
Oh we fully understand what you want and your delusions that lead to it (90% helf my pretty blueberry backside dream on!). You want to erase and remove everything about a playable race and make it fit your Barbie/Ken elf dream, and the answer is still NO. You are not going to get a straight up High Elf standing. Go get TRP and just do a wall of text I’mAHighElfNotAVoidElf repeatedly down the page if you want but stop trying to take away the identity of the race that is playable. You have no factual backing to your claim only your own delusion of High Elf Grandeur that it is based on. Fanfiction and dreams, nothing more.
Its obvious (or should be by now) that Blizz has no intention of giving you a full copy/paste Alliance Blood Elf, you get a few skins and some eye colors so you can fill out that little box on TRP with ‘Holiest of the Holy pure High Elf’ all you want yet guess what? Your still a Velf and you will always be a Velf unless you roll Horde and go Belf. Either way your best option to a story is ‘Yeah even though Helves turned their back on dark magic (Fel) I decided I like crazy whispers and decided to join you Ren’dorei’ but didn’t get dunked in the Blueberry Kool Aid’ or ‘Yeah I realized those still calling themselves Helves are nuts and decided to return to my true people.’
YOU just need to face facts that your getting Belf options on a Velf, not the High Elf race you claim you are and stop trying to take the Velves identity. No you can’t be a Paladin, shaman, druid. No you can’t take the name away and change the race to one of your liking. You get what they have given and either accept it or just don’t roll one period.
I think one of the main problems with them being stuck as “Void Elf” though is it kinda limits the High Elf fantasy especially for people who want classes like Paladins which High Elves can be. It also eliminates other “potential” High Elf options such as druids or shamans when it comes to the Hinterland Elves if they’re stuck under the Void Tag.
I suppose that could be changed if they make it so you can change your racial tag. Maybe if you change it to “High Elf” it opens up Paladins (Possibly druids & shamans as well.) and the same could be done for Dwarves if you tag as Wildhammer opening up the Druid option to them.
That’s why I think it might be a better option giving them a new overall name that encompasses both High and Void Elves.
Unless you are Ion or J Allen, its not your call, sport.
Why is that, Mr. Discount Night Elf?
I kinda sense a growing sense of hostility in this thread. I hope to encourage everyone to remember that this is a game and we should aim to have fun instead of tear each other down. Just my opinion.
I just don’t think that’s a realistic thing to ask for or expect.
Paladins are highly unlikely to happen.
A race name change has virtually no chance of happening.
The High Elf fantasy does not require Paladins. There may be players that want to be an Alliance High Elf Paladins, and asking for access to the class is fine (even if it’s unlikely). Asking for an option to change your displayed racial tag is also fine (again even if it’s unlikely). But asking to just flat out rename the race for everyone, whether they want it or not, is not fine (and has virtually no chance of ever being considered let alone happening imo).
As to limiting classes based on race name. That sounds like significant coding work just to make High Elf Paladins happen. I’m not saying it couldn’t be done, but it certainly seems unlikely and almost definitely wouldn’t happen before Shadowlands launch. You’d also require a significant amount of support to get Blizz to even consider it and I expect that may be far harder to drum up than support for an entirely separate High Elf allied race.
I can’t agree that it will ever be “better” to just rename Void Elves regardless of everyone elses wishes, not when there are people who like Void Elves for what they are. Asking for additional options for classes and race tag display is fine. Asking to fundamentally alter and outright change something that some players are perfectly happy with is not, and I don’t believe Blizzard will ever seriously entertain such a request.
Have to remember that the ones like the OP are not interested in actual facts but only the alternative facts that play out in their brains.
The fact that they can not be happy with the minor cosmetic changes and move on just proves this.
“I think one of the main problems with them being stuck as “Void Elf” though is it kinda limits the High Elf fantasy” maybe they should of picked one closer to what they wanted? Alliance better not get Druids and Shamans for their Void Elves, if Blood Elves don’t get them too. Mean since Alliance took a Horde race, their skin tones, hair?, then they want Void Elves to be able to be Demon Hunters, Paladins too? High Elves can be Paladins (on Horde side).
I never said they had to.
Go ask Blizzard that.
You’re offtopic, and i cannot say i care anyway.
Horde did not get gil goblins or sethrak.
Or actual proper nightborne models.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s just more pity to the already going pity party.
Please this. Hopefully it can be story-related. Like some redeemed Kael’thas-related questline where he goes “Wow, Lor’themar. The Horde was such a mistake what’s wrong with you?” Get Alleria cleansed of the Void while we’re at it.
Void Elves should still be available via their skin and hair options, of course. But it’s time to put Warcraft and the Alliance back where it belongs.
I have a better solution. Delete blood elves and void elves.
Easy.
I would support High Elves being added…
If it would shut you people up with your demands…but we know it wont.
Therefore no support for there being PC High Elves.
