Can we just change the Void elf allied race to high elves offically?

Not quite, it’s the “We wanted High elves, not Grape Elves” vs. “I don’t want Fair-skinned Blue eyed elves on Alliance” with those who are fine with the compromise trapped in the middle.

I’m happy for them to have fair skin, but they’re not thankful for what they got and are rocking my 10 year old niece vibe with the over ninethousand new demands.

Just pretend they are High Elves with void problems. No sense in arguing lore with it since Blizzard took their hard stance with High Elves.

I have to agree with yet another of Shadina’s posts… this is the second time and unsettles me being a pro-helfer and all. :face_with_head_bandage:

What we are receiving is a gift.

And while I always say there’s nothing wrong with requesting more options, I do think there is something wrong with asking to outright change the name of the race for everyone. Some people like the Void Elf race tag and identity, and arbitrarily stripping that from them would be terribly unfair.

If the “High Elf”, “Wildhammer”, or any other race, racial tag is so important to some people, then they need to get together and campaign for a native wow function similar to certain RP addons that allow you to change your racial tag appearance for anyone else using that addon.

Such an option would allow everyone to identify their race as they see fit within the limits Blizzard sets instead of just running roughshod over those who want their race tag to continue to say “Void Elf”.

It won’t happen

No,

Void Elves and Blood Elves are as they are,

They won’t ever become an iconic Lannister Game of thrones lord of the rings LEGO los

slips the Vulpera a Saronite axe behind the backs “you know what to do … also bring me the head, I want to turn it into a literal talking head puppet.”

Indeed they do. People have been banned for less, like changing the way their own character and Clothes looked ON THEIR OWN CLIENT.

THAT’S completely intellectually dishonest statement. I never said any such thing and you implying I did is you being completely dishonest.

I AM on an RP server but guess what. I don’t RP. No interest in it.

No but since we’re getting blue eyes on the horde side AND can play paladins we should have blood elfs renamed to high elves since we’re actually canon when it comes to looks and classes that helfs can be in lore :^)

they do actually

Actually, he wasn’t raised by Turalyon as both of his parents were lost in Outland. If he was raised by anyone, it was Vereesa.

I don’t think people understand what I want here. Come shadowlands the “void elf” race will be 10% ‘voidy’ void elves and 90% ‘high elf’ void elves. Why should 10% of the population be the name and face of the race?

If 90% of dwarves changed their appearance to wildhammers wouldn’t it make more sense to call the race the wildhammers since that is what most of the race is now?

Ideally we would get separate races for all of these customizations but blizzard seems to not want to do that.

I don’t want to stop people who like playing void elves from playing void elves, just gotta face the facts that you will be in the minority and while the high elves and void elves are lumped together that means the race should really be called high elves and not void elves.

lol
Seriously though this seems even more logical than OP’s suggestion.

an assumption with no factual basis. They were introduced as Void Elves so trying to change them into something they were not originally is not something I really like.

no, a Wildhammer Dwarf would still be called a Dwarf, since they are not originally called Bronzebeard Dwarf.
and IMO, we don’t need more lazy reskins as new races. keeping them as customizations seems to be the fair way to go. again, in my opinion. So your notion of what would be ideal is not universally shared

another unfounded assumption. just because you see it as a minority doesn’t mean we should stop caring for that minority. the race was first introduced as Void Elves, I see no reason to take that away.

I think people understand what you want, but what you want can be detrimental to someone else.

That pretty much only pipe up when people ask for void or night elf paladins. Almost as if they are making some sort of point.

As a void elf, I don’t care about the new customizations. I would have rather they applied those developers to fixing classes.

It’s highly unlikely the people working on customization’s design such things. They are probably on things like the art team and cannot work on classes because that’s something they don’t know how to do. There are different types of jobs for everyone in game development. Art/cosmetic being one of them.

A programmer/developer still has to take the content the art team created and code it into the game and debug it. The art team does not do this.

That wasn’t an RP addon and it was rightly broken by the company for changing game files. Add-ons work via the LUA interface. That’s the reason most of them are allowed including MRP and TRP (which render the user reportable if they include adult content).
