Yeah, the entire point is that some generic traits only exist on emissary gear. You can clear all the mythic raids you want, you’ll never get gear with swirling sands or tradewinds on it.
And again, they won’t.
It’s been explained to you half a dozen times now, you only get 400 azerite caches if you already have 400 azerite gear. It’s a sidegrade meant to give you more trait choice, not a way to raise your ilvl. You need to be 395 ilvl with at least 2 pieces of 400 azerite gear to get a 400 azerite piece from the emissary chest. That’s how it’s worked all expansion. Why do you keep pretending it’s welfare gear when it’s not?
I’d just like everyone to pause for a moment and reflect how Azerite is just a terrible system in every single possible way.
You couldn’t make a worse system if you tried.
Would be nice — games should have ramsom variables and chance just not a linear slog
One of the reasons titanforging is so loved by players— it brings that chance excitment so needed
385 should be implemented to reduce the gear gap that is growing
it should scale to your ilvl.
Blizzards reply “Hold my beer”. I’m really not all that optimistic for 8.2 at this point.
That has been the argument of this thread and has been explained to death. It literally has no impact on new 120’s or people who are in the 380’s. It’s a chance to get something useful for people who are already 400.
Oh yes please. I love logging in and having my hero decked out in heroic raid level gear simply by pressing “Enter Game”
All my alts have level 400 stuff too and my level 38 because logging in is so nice and rewarding.
Stop doing azerite cache missions and start doing heroic raiding and M+.
I’d like the WQ rewards reduced so that even less people do them. Eventually Blizz will get the message and delete the entire concept of WQs. Win win.
wow is just rng with scaling.
They were capped at 355 during Uldir. They never were at 370 for the rewards, and as soon as season 2 dropped, they were raised to 385 max.
Wrong. They were increased to 370 in October about a month after uldir released. And yes I specifically remember getting 370. If you need proof see lores post.
Oh ok, well, I stopped playing for a short while 2 weeks after Uldir Dropped because of everyday life got in the way, so I didn’t know. Thanks for correcting me on this.
Emissaries shouldn’t be coughing up heroic level raid rewards as a standard. It’s bad for the health of the game.
Except it’s not hurting anyone because it has always scaled with item level. The players in 380’s will continue to get 385 azerite. This is for people who have already hit 400 ilvl to give them other trait options which are not available on raid gear and cant be farmed in M+. Also for offspecs to create multiple sets rather than reforging or downgrading to lower azerite because of this busted system.
If anything increasing azerite scaling just like they did with Uldir gives players who are already 400 incentive to do world quests.
If people get themselves decked out in heroic Dazar’alor level gear this early in the patch what incentive is there for those people to actually do the raid? it’s just encouraging people to do emissaries and then log, potentially culminating in dropping their sub til the next content patch.
Specific items with better secondary stats, trinkets, etc. WF and TF gear keep people playing in the raid. As much as some people hate the TF system it keeps people doing content they already have gear from for a shot at hitting the lotto.
Except people that are already 400+ from the raid and M+10 logon and see a pointless emissary then logoff. This encourages people who have already got to 400 do the daily emissary. The daily emissary dropping 400 azerite which a lot of raiders already have is not going to suddenly make them stop raiding… Its for alternate traits (which could in some cases be better) and backup azerite for secondary specs or content. For raids I might want one set of traits and for any other content I might want to run a different set of traits. If i want to swap to one of two other specs I dont have to constantly reforge.
Yeah, but can’t you just scrap azerite pieces to do that? It’s like, 7150 residuum for a BIS Azerite from the vendor.
The cap isn’t a hard one. The turtles handed me a 415 titanforged ring a few days ago, so there’s that at least.
We are referring to Azerite specifically which cannot WF or TF.
Scrap what? You can’t farm azerite in M+ which is what the system is intended for. You can get and scrap 400 azerite from the raid but who is going to be selfish enough to keep and scrap azerite rather than giving it to someone who will use it? You can get azerite from M0 and scrap it but I believe it only gives something like 10 residuum. So maybe you do every M0 and get 3-4 370 azerite. You get maybe 30 or 40 extra residuum. Your better off trying to push a M+ key higher than waste hours in every M0 for another 30-40 azerite.
And for reference even if you complete a ~ +12 key thats worth 700 residuum from the weekly chest. It would take about 10 weeks to buy 1 slot. So 30 weeks to buy 3 or about 8 months. A season won’t even last that long. Assuming they increase azerite from emissary quests you might cut down that time by a week.

From scrapping…
370 - 12
385 - 35
400 - 115
