This whole thread is nonsense. I’m a night elf and have so little customization it makes me want to change race.
Core Races and their Allied Race counterparts should definitely share certain customizations like hairstyles imo.
/thread
A thread worthy of necro’ing.
Blizzard canonized void elves that physically resemble Alleria in the Dark Heart patch, so logically void elves should have blood elf hairstyles.
Maybe the next step will be a sharing of hairstyles between BE/VE at Midnight.
How about if you want Blood Elf hair styles, roll a Blood Elf.
Are you afraid to lose your identity as a person on the internet in the game world of warcraft or why is gatekeeping supposed to be mention-worthy? They are all Thalassian Elves.
Its not gate keeping.
If you want to play a blood elf, play a blood elf.
Dont pick a different race, and try to ruin it by making it a blood elf.
No, it is call make Void Elves more unique with there own identity in terms of customizations instead of just keeping with the copy-paste.
This is possible if the elves merge to become neutral like the pandaren, dracthyr and earthen.
That isnt happening though.
Would be pretty stupid.
I quote myself here:
This topic has nothing in common with Drakthyr and Worgen. As it turned out, you opened up a pretty good argument with this: The human model also shares the same customization options with the inflicted human model.
They can still get this, while also sharing the options within the same model. Humans already do this.
It actually has a lot in common.
Its a group of people that pick a race, knowing what that race entails…
Then wanting to change it to where they dont actually play the race they picked.
Wanting to play a void elf, then laboring until every single aspect of the “void” is customized out is silly.
The Midnight Elven Union could change the situation of the Blood Elves and Void Elves, it would really be something new.
Its not “something new” to take something away from the Horde and give it to the Alliance.
Void Elves are supposed to be Void Elves, not Blood Elves. I want to see new and unique customizations for Void Elves, not copy-paste from Blood Elves. Sharing a skin tone or a hair colour, that is one thing. But hair styles and stuff, that is something I think should be made unique only for the Void Elves.
No more copy-paste. Leave the Blood Elves alone and stop asking for everything from the Blood Elves.
It could also be nothing except like usual working together then you get out and go back to your own stuff which is how most people would prefer it to be and just so you and others can play pretend on blue side instead of playing the red side isn’t a real reason.
Sharing customizations between BE and VE.
But this is not quite the case here. The Alliance has already the High Elves as a subrace, so it makes pretty much sense to go the human-route in terms of customization (Human/Worgen). Everything else is just gatekeeping for the sake of an artificial debate. This has nothing to do with the Drakthyr-situation at all.
This is likely what is going to happen story-wise and it wouldn’t surprise me at all.
This is no argument. If we go by this, the Worgen human model has also taken away from the Human-player race. You can’t have one or the another, pick your argument.
Void Elves are a failed player race, otherwise they wouldn’t have given them these options in the first place. The topic was so big, it also generated an editorial on a gaming newspage due the conflicting nature of the compromise race.
Blood Elves are not this important, including the Void Elves. The are a casual player race for people with lacking ties to fantasy games or wanting to play Barbie dolls. Merging them together would benefit everyone and finally put a stop to these children topics we all engage.
Nailed it.
