Can we get more LGBT couples in game?

Life is easier if you accept yourself and don’t rely on video games to affirm your life choices.

Eh he was thirsting for Liadrin at the time so nah I don’t see it.

Side tangent on the topic of undead. I have lots of old ocs that are vampires and other monsters. I got creative with my zombie ( He’s not rotting however his body is basically on pause. If he gets hurt, he can’t heal for example ) and ended up making him asexual. He still ends up hooking up with someone since he’s capable of romantic feelings.

It’s fun to get clever with representation even among characters you’re making up yourself

After having read the book - I’m still trying to figure out where Shaw and Matthias was confirmed. Aside from the one scene where the one was “intoxicated” by the smell of the other’s cologne I didn’t see that at all

I agree with the dumb troll threads but who cares if someone posts on their main? Just so someone like you can look at their achievements and use it against them? Makes no sense.

They hugged when they got reunited and Shaw asks Flynn to meet him later at one of the inns in stormwind. Making Flynn blush.

All they said was that the dead don’t have romantic relationships and somebody went on about wanting undead babies(which was sarcasm anyway), to which the reply was that undead don’t have bodily functions and thus can’t have babies.

Though it is lore as well that it’s very rare that the undead display positive emotions and that in most cases, it’s either a newly formed undead clinging to their former life or one who has been influenced by the Light in some way.

Undead who are recently turned tend to have a bit of confusion based on their final moments in life, but that tends to fade over time.

Zelling is still pretty new and in the “clinging to his former life” stage. He’s also already showing signs of it fading.

How could adding more representation be disrespectful? Especially the examples OP provided.

You are pulling at straws.

As you post on an alt.

The op is constantly trolling with bait threads like this. They’re not genuine

Oh well then, my bad. I must have missed a post of two.

OK, thanks for the clarification. I’d take your word for it, as I know you a little better.

Nice assumption but nah. I have been leveling this priest for the past few weeks. This is my main for Shadowlands. Would you like my profile to my other 10+ 120’s so you can verify if I’m a noob or not?

Looking for validation in a fantasy game? Idk. I don’t feel like it would work well. World of Warcraft is pretty conservation with relationships in general.

It’s more about heroic sacrifice and bonds born in battle than happy families.

OP,if you are so bent for it make you a couple no one really minds after all it’s a fantasy game.

I think it would be fair if the proportion of LGBT characters in WoW reflected the actual proportions in real life. That makes sense to me.

And also, I think we should only be overtly aware of the sexual orientation of the same proportion of LGBT characters as we are of heterosexual characters.

i.e., if we are only overtly aware of the sexual orientation of one heterosexual couple in 100, I think the same proportion should hold for LGBT characters.

In general, a nice love story can add to the flavor of the game, but I don’t want to be swatted in the face with unending relationship stories everywhere I turn.

As said above the OP is a troll.

But as for my reasoning, if you’re gonna add LGBT characters, then do it in a way that’s respectful.

Making a bunch of characters gay from fan fiction comes off as fetishizing LGBT rather than respecting them.

Which is more common than you might think.

I don’t really agree with that, TBH. But sure, different opinions, I guess.

I also don’t see how Anduin / Wrathion are reduced to ‘fanfic’ only material. They have way more established characters and they character growth is heavily influenced by one another, than the one gay couple we got (Shaw and Flynn).

Shaw and Flynn actually feel like a token to appease the crowd without commitment; and I find tokenism way more disrespectful. But, baby steps, I guess; can’t expect too much progressiveness from global companies because they also have to appeal to international markets.

I’d call Anduin/Wrathion fanfic material at this point given that Blizzard’s writers confirmed years ago that it’s purely a friendship and that Anduin is into women.

and this isn’t a recent thing either. They confirmed it like half a decade ago.

Flynn/Shaw were, if nothing else, relatively unestablished even if the internet shippers did do their usual “Two people interacted, so clearly there is immense sexual tension there” with them.

Me and Shlump.

I’d honestly like to not continue the conversation here if it’s already established that OP is just doing it to troll and not to be sincere, but… I’ll still propose counter arguments:

  1. liking women does not except you from liking men.
  2. years ago, these characters were literal children; so there couldn’t have possibly written any sort of love tension, and what applied then, doesn’t necessarily apply now
  3. THE writer (Christie Golden) who said that on twitter is not the same writer who wrote the most recent stories.
  4. Flynn / Shaw are clearly tokens.

So, I see your point, but I don’t really agree with it.

Regardless, my initial response was mostly because saying something like “X form representation is insulting” leaves an outlet for people who are honestly bigoted to feel like they are acting on a moral high ground, even if that wasn’t said with that intention.
