Can people still call gammas (the only mode that actually gets queues because the other two are 100% dead) “catch up mechanic” anyway? considering that if you low on minimum GS you’re in HIGH risk of getting kicked out of groups when things dont go/or go wrong… and everything is volatile with pugs and mechanics…
If you’re including Soul Preserver, the issue with that is it’s a 187 item from non-heroic COS, and even earlier in the expansion you had to be pretty committed (or very lucky) to get that, considering dps had very little reason to run that instance more than 1-2 times.
There were a few plate tank items that were decent, but nothing must have other than the one healing item.

LOL! No, I was in ICC gear until level 84. There wasn’t a single upgrade from quests or even dungeons until then for me.
Then you weren’t trying very hard.
I mean, I’m a bit skeptical someone actually remembers what level they were when they started getting upgrades 13 years ago.
One thing to remember having Naxx gear in Kara, since that is notable, but “just dinged 84” is not likely to be memorable.
But objectively lvl 82 greens are supposed to be 300 ilvl, and boss drops from the beginner dungeons are 308 blues. It’s possible you could convince yourself your 800 gold enchants, or just status, make it worth holding on to ICC gear a bit longer, but…objectively?
At the least that is not likely to be the normal experience even if the anecdote miiiight be true.
Well it’s not like it was actually needed to complete those quests I was in mostly t9.5 gear when it dropped and I didn’t have any trouble with the quests…
Shadowmourne is quite literally replaced by a level 78 blue dungeon drop, if you wore all your ICC gear till level 84 you’d have to have been doing the lowbie zones for completion or something, and never set foot in a dungeon at all.

Went to the link and instantly for a pop up that blocked my screen “How to get started”. I saw the attributes to the weapon and they are not what you posted.
Then I don’t know what link you used cause if you used the one above nothing of the sort happens and the stats I copy/pasted are from it.

Here’s a wowhead comments with the stats typed into it from back in the day, oddly they’re precisly the same as the ones I copied.
Maybe I have a time machine or editing powers over comments at wowhead?
