people like corpseknife have a fundamental disagreement with us: they simply cannot let go of their current characters and their current purplies. it’s a childish impulse though; they don’t view it possible to just let go and start over. they cannot fathom giving up all their “accomplishments”.

Grats on SoM2. I hope they let you head into MoP Classic when SoM2 is over like most of them will ask for since yknow, they love classic wow so much. Hopefully you will be on the one playable SoM2 server when that day comes.

You can keep shooting yourself in the foot until all that remains is a bloody stump for all I care. Classic Era is not seasonal. A Fresh Era server would not be seasonal. Maybe when you stop making these false equivalencies you guys can hang in the discussion but until then there is little cause to keep rewarding your stupidity.

Everquest is a datum. I gave you data: multiple examples of fresh start servers.
The same Fresh crowd that was down to one playable SoM server after what? 6 months? The same fresh crowd that begged Blizz to put them in Wrath? That Fresh crowd?
I know Era isnt popular, like, I pointed it myself on numerous occasions. Its my belief that Era’s current popularity may be a reason Blizzard isn’t rushing out new Era servers. There’s no demand for Fresh servers just people making demands - big difference - and one you couldnt spot if it blotted out the sun.

New Classic servers to progress through to Wrath again are still a long way off if ever.
Era has the base game/Classic experience. Progression should loop around to pick Freshies up at some point.

Is this your whole argument? While this may be true, it is also true that fresh start servers are desired by a relevant subset of players.
If you can clearly see that fresh start realms are used by many games to create a financially relevant model, then your disagreement seems to serve no purpose.
Who cares how long the server is open or how long people play? If people play, have fun, and achieve their goals, then that’s all they want.
Servers do not have to be “up” until the end of time to be successful. FUN is the ultimate goal.

It has the potential, sure. It also has the potential to not do that. Given that it looks like Classic Era is scraping by with a few thousand faithful Im not inclined to think Blizz is gonna be rolling through newly filled money bins like Scrooge Mcduck with a Fresh server, excuse the hell out of me.
