I believe you to be correct. I misread it for that reason (no “or”) but upon review, it would appear as the OP wanted one or the other. Whichever they could get first.
In fairness to me, a new Era realm was also part of the OP so it was okay for me to talk about it but I did attempt to exclude SoM from the “Fresh”. That was my mistake because the term Fresh predates Seasonal servers by a decade at least. Not trying to make excuses here but I think it would be prudent to not put both of them under the Fresh label. It’s confusing. To me SoM2 is simply a new season, not a fresh server although Im not going to try and enforce that like I did in this thread. People can refer to it however they like as long as they make it clear which one they mean.
I still feel like an apology from me is appropriate. Maybe not to you directly but some other posters here for sure and definitely for anyone simply reading. I did screw up for sure, lol. Wouldnt have hurt to read the OP more than once.
So yeah, to the OP, no way youre gonna see a new “fresh” permanent Classic server but you are getting SoM2 although probably not for a few months or so. Blizz is either really busy or taking their time to learn from SoM1 what they can do better in SoM2 by going through all the feedback and in house metrics. Its all still relatively new to them.

Yeah dude, I don’t really wanna join up on an era server and do that because the experience isnt the same. It is significantly more fun to start over and experience the journey again. The ups and downs of the economy, certain items being worth something, the AQ event, the grinds to get rep that everyone had to do together. Joining in on something that has already finished out is just not as fun as a fresh experience is.
I would love to play Classic Wow again, through each phase and from the beginning.
No SOM doesn’t count, they did stuff to that version that made it even less authentic than classic already was.

Very true. Not all people wanna do the journey a second time.
For me and I think a few others though, while the journey can still be made on an era server, it’s just not quite the same. Awful lot of events that will never be repeated over on era that you miss out on. Which just changes the experience as a whole for some people.
Ive typically spoken out against fresh vanilla servers but Im starting to bend on that a little. Since Blizz wont do anything else for 60 WoW I think a fresh server would be better than nothing.

If nothing else, it wont hurt anything to have one. Especially because some people just didn’t like SOM. I didn’t get a chance to try it out myself because of time constraints but for whatever reason it looks like it was popular then it very quickly wasn’t.
