Originally partway through WotLK (Ulduar patch) virtually all flasks were changed to a 1 hour duration. To compensate for this you received 2 flasks instead of 1 when crafting, for the same cost of materials.
When this change was enacted players received “mixtures” for their WotLK flasks, if you had 1 Flask of the Frost Wyrm, you received 2.
TBC flasks didn’t get this same treatment since it was already partway through WotLK that the change was made, however this time around the change will occur in the pre-patch (confirmed by checking flasks on both the beta and PTR). This means if you have 50 flasks stocked up, you’re going to lose 50 hours of uptime on your flasks.
Would it be possible to add mixtures for TBC flasks this time around so we’re not losing half of them when the pre-patch releases?
All flasks are down in prices by like 80% (on some servers).
Like, tank’s flask was 120-130g on my server, now it’s 20g.
Other pots/flasks all went down in prices sigfinicantly as well. Mana pots are down to 80s/pop. Tercone (herb) is down to like 90s/pop as well, hence all flasks went down from 2-3g down to 1-1.5g.
I think it’s a tad dramatic to ask for a compensation, when it’s been like this since 15 years ago, and we have always known that all Classic xpacs run on the latest patch.
It’s like asking for riding cost refund… Not to mention, flask/potion crafting is actually a lot “easier” in terms of material gathering.
and by the time guild start raiding, they will all have wrath flasks/pots anyway.
It’s really not dramatic, we’re having half of our consumes removed. I’m asking for them to NOT remove them, which is what happened when it originally released, just for different flasks.
In prepatch, they all become useless.
Every class/spec get’s like solid 200% power boost during prepatch. SWP is getting an additional 30% nerf. T4/5 raids become a complete joke.
I played on PTR for a few days. Every single heroic, with randomly geared people, would take 10 minutes at most to complete.
We did full Gruul run in 7 minutes. Yes, 7. From the moment we attacked first trash mob to Gruul’s death, it was 7 minutes.
Saw others commenting on how they did the entire SSC in like 25-30m.
I’m sure BT is not that far from that either. and full SWP for pugs will take an hour.
Every SWP geared folk deals 3-4k single target.
Every dps in dungeons does 4-7k aoe regardless of gear. I got 10k aoe with pure healer gear.
You’re talking about a completely different subject that does not belong in this thread. Your opinion on “whether or not flasks are even needed” is irrelevant
20 flasks will be 20 hours of flasking in pre-patch yes, so if you’re goal is to have 4 hours per level, you’ll need 20 more flasks (Currently, you can get this buy crafting 10 flasks in the prepatch, as it will give you double)
It’s flasks that have already been crafted that are trouble
Oh in pre patch each flask created gives 2 one hour flasks not just one? So worth selling my 2 hour ones back and just purchase / create in pre patch itself?
You could do that, it shouldn’t theoretically affect the value if your flask prices are stable (Compared to cost of materials and re-crafting the flasks during pre-patch)
