I’m over the queue issue as I haven’t been able to play since the “launch” of wrath (work schedule, etc.).
I’d like to know if anything is / will be done so that the current servers are playable or if we are really out of luck and are waiting until this issue “self-corrects”?
Can we get an official response as if there’s nothing getting done, I’d rather cancel for now and come back in a few months when the game is playable for me.
Have they posted an official response about this anywhere?
idk how many times we have to go through this before realizing that blizzard doesn’t care. They won’t do anything to fix it. Eventually people will just quit and the queue times will be less.
Yeah this is whack. First time hosting a launch blizzard? But seriously, I started mid wrath and I want to experience all of it. If I can’t play when I’m paying for it, then blizzard will lose one more player with a /played of like 180 days. Not just a wrath player, a retail player. Forever. I’m a filthy casual so I’m nobody and I won’t make an impact, I’ll just go check out FINAL FANTASY 14 AND GIVE THEM MY MONEY. You like that blizzard… yeah… I’m going to specifically pay them out of spite because you hate your player base.
I log on at 3:30 pm and I get to play about 9 pm. The “fresh” servers are still over an hour wait time. I’m not transferring and I’m not rolling a new character to turn around and level another DK. I have one on Grobbulus. I was on there back when it was cool in classic. I’m not dropping from 10K people server to >500 on a server.
They have acknowledged it, saying they will have something for the forums soon.
TL:DR; software / design issue, not a hardware issue. Servers already hold 5x OG player caps, I.E, 15k vs the old 2.5k/3k. Everyone suffering from Q issues could leave and take the transfer and still have 2 full cap servers instead of 1 overcap.
They have offered free transfers, that do NOT trigger a 90 cooldown, no level or gold cap either, your unwillingness to accept it doesn’t change that. Sulfuras is one of those free destinations and is far from dead. But if all you read is the doom and gloom on the forums, you will never find a place that makes you happy.
Guess we will see you in a few months when ques die naturally as they always do.
I paid money to transfer my characters from Benediction to Fearalina after taking a break and seeing that Horde was unplayable on that server. Why am I forced to transfer away from a populated server because they haven’t figured out how to scale a 2005 server? Your answer and their statement make absolutely no sense.
Not to mention I have a number of friends who play on the server and are able to login because they’re on much earlier; am I to sell them on the idea to migrate as well, or do I just roll solo on an empty server? Once again, your answer is absolute nonsense.
Tell me you didn’t read it without telling me you didn’t read it. The servers they are offering transfers to arn’t dead and if your friends arn’t willing to do something to help accommodate playing with you, are they really your friends or are they just there for convenience? Your unwillingness to accept the answers they have provided is what is nonsense. Again, if all you read is the doom and gloom on the forums you will never find a place that makes you happy. They literally have scaled servers already, to 5x the old caps. Its a design issue at this point and the only way really around it is a bunch of mumbo jumbo you wouldn’t bother to read and understand anyhow.
Are transfers the official answer to the problem? It’s not the solution I’d like, but if that’s it then it would be nice to know that. It’s frustrating to face the queues day after day without hearing from Blizzard that they’re working on it, or even that it’s working as intended so we’d know not to keep hoping and decide to either transfer or wait in line.
Which I agree, its not the ideal solution, but its the only one that we have right now. Hopefully when he makes this post he tweeted about, it will give more insight into the problems they face and what, if anything, they do plan on doing. Hes already said its not a hardware issue, they can throw all the hardware they want at it, but it wont fix the underlying issues.
