yes it creates an issue with invasion of privacy because account wide ignore allows a person to ignore someone on the forums, then search around for hidden messages and find all the alts of the ignored person.
it’s not healthy for the forums.

For proof you arn’t just a trolling hypocrite.
Seeing as how the vast majority of forums uses account ignores without problems.
i have been reading some of ardmccloud’s posts and i have determined that his theories on account wide ignore are very accurate and i have decided that account wide ignore would be bad for the forums because it creates invasion of privacy issues.
well i would like to thank you for asking me that question but i am going to have to respectfully decline because i value my privacy.

Don’t even have to be exposed /used ever in the forums. They are already connected via change character .
Also forum suspensions are already account wide so there should be no problem tying the other things together either.

yes it will cause invasion of privacy issues.
because with account wide ignore, people on the forums can find everyone’s alts…alts are meant to be kept private unless a person chooses to share their alts.

So every forum ever has privacy issues?
if the forum is a video game forum where people have main characters that are connected to alt characters on the same account, yes.
this is why heroes of the storm and diablo forums are account wide because there is no such thing as an alt on those forums.
so the world of warcraft forums are vastly different and people’s alts must be kept private as they were meant to be.
