idk maybe just get rid of the quote system altogether since people can misquote others?
there were some earlier posts stating that some ignored users were invisible, instead of having the option to expand their hidden posts…
i was just wondering if that’s a result of the “mute” instead of the “ignore”?

as far as i can tell, there are the people who want the forum to be a comfortable place for EVERYONE.
… versus the people who want to make the forum an uncomfortable place for everyone.
Nobody with good intentions would choose to push-back against anything which is positive for the overall health of the community.

I never been to any other gaming forum, so I don’t know if they have it or not. If they don’t have quote, we can suffice without it too.
Discord doesn’t have the quoting; I don’t know if that would be a bad example or not.
It is regretfully not that simple.
You can’t account for every collective that can post on these forums or how some posters could coordinate other posters to use something like an account ignore to black list opinions that don’t align with theirs.
Effectively turning these forums into an echo chamber.
They kinda do. When you use the reply button people can see what you replied to.

I don’t think you’re going to get a good answer. Judging by how they have been conducting themself for the past year, they seem to think that simply stating the same thing over and over makes it true.

How about Blizzard just makes it so you can separate out messages that came from those on your friends list only. This way you can take all other unwanted messages and trap them on a different window and make that window tiny with 5 point font and never look at it again.
I think the solution to that is to leave all public chat channels, so you only see party, guild, and whispers.

thats what we all need to stop doing…and ignore anyone who does, regardless if we agree or disagree with them.
I think moderation here again is TRYING to let this thread stand.

Hi, I’m Gen X here…so allow me to give some sarcastic words of wisdom.
Download/train the mind skill to ignore people. Expand out your brain and zone out, quit listening or giving a frick. It works wonders on every facet of daily life. There is not a day when I don’t use this skill! If you learn to use it, random whispers won’t even phase you, you will eat popcorn and laugh at the fact they forced themselves to type things.
It is a worthy app to download 10/10.

You block who you have had enough of…and anyone who has had enough of you does the same.
Frankly, I dont think it changes much here at all except for a few of us in threads like this topic. I think MOST of the forum stays exactly the same as it is now even with Two way twitter/facebook like blocks.
I think MOST of the forum membership wont even use the block feature at all…so it’ll just be a few who block you…or you block.
Personally, i can live without seeing posts of someone ive chosen to block…or has felt the need to block me

It doesn’t . As long as they follow Blizz’s CoC for the forums they can say what they want.
If they thought Blizz also gave them the right to make people have to see what they have to say then Blizz wouldn’t of even have put the per character ignore system we currently have.

Right, there is no perfect system.
But think of this.
Do we REALLY want biased people being even more heavy handed in here…moderators with personal agendas maybe…for or against either side here…cracking down every little move we make and making this place miserable to even be on?
Personally, Id prefer the two way facebook/twitter block so WE have the control over the situation and can end the trolling with a couple clicks.
If you block someone and they cant see your posts now, it makes it harder for them to keep railing on in a thread, keeping the flames flying against your posts, so that eventually moderation 404s another thread.
this isnt just about them not seeing your posts.
its also about keeping a topic open so others can at least get some benefit from it.
So say you and I are at each others throats on topic X.
you block me, but I can still see every post you make.
So I keep screeching at your posts, even though you cant see what Im saying now…but MODERATION CAN.
At a point they might come in, suspend me, sure…but then lock down a thread that was beneficial to others.
With a two way block, you block me, I cant see your posts and have nothing to aim my hate at anymore.
Much more likely that the thread stays up and people get whatever benefit they find from it.

Yes, I would love to have the power to ban you from any thread I start. I can’t see how that would be abused at all here.
