Oh, man , did I ever use to love logging on different characters to get back at some douche because I knew there was no account block feature! Haha. I don’t do that anymore because I don’t hold immediate resentments anymore, so it was pretty toxic.
But great suggestion if Blizzard could do that!
Well, from what I can see. The only possible downside of account wide ignore is that people could find alts with the hidden message mechanic.
To solve that, just remove this mechanic.
If you ignore someone, you don’t get to see hidden messages with the option to view them.
Just make it so when you ignore a character, you ignore them ENTIRELY. No seeing hidden messages (maybe even blocking quotes made from their posts too?)

Regretfully the existence of black lists in previous, recent threads proves there are posters interested in knowing about others alts and coordinating lock outs for their ability to express themselves.
Any account ignore system, if not done right will be exploited.

No, if any system update is done incorrectly then it will be exploited.
