Maybe ignore per thread? I think there needs to be a look into on that one.
I’ve been just flagging the post. I just hope the thread doesn’t get shut down, but the individual gets dealt with appropiately.

I mean we do have a verity of subject some we do agree on others we don’t it would be a good comprise than a account wide.
Still think the timer per account would work on ignore but for now this one would do.we’ll see if everyone agrees.

If someone comes at me being too emotional and being too toxic such as calling me names, insults, etc… at that point I’m not going to treat that person with respect, instead they are going to get ignored because by that point they are not worth engaging in conversation and will provide nothing of value to my time. If being ignored is a problem to you then you should reflect on your past and learn your lesson from your past behavior.
I’m all for a debate, conversation or hearing out why someone thinks my take is bad, not someone who is too emotional and toxic.
How do they make people feel it?

if you want to ignore someone, does it really matter to you that they won’t be able to see your posts as well?
I think I explained this already. If people want account-wide ignore, then why not extend it to work all the way around? You put me on ignore, you dont see my posts and I dont see yours either. The person who insists on being able to do this gets what they want and hte person being ignored isn’t aware of it.
Because it goes from controlling what you see to controlling what other people see?

what about also making the ignore function un-reversible? like if you put someone on ignore, you can’t see their posts and they can’t see their posts - then there is no turning off ignore.
if people are allowed to just turn off the ignore whenever they want, then they can turn off ignore, say something to the person and then immediately re-ignore them.
B/c the person doing the ignoring is controlling the conversation and making it one-sided which seems to also be one of the intentions of people asking for this. I dont think its JUST b/c of “harassment” (which I’ve yet to see that even in this thread, i just see people disagreeing–sometimes being overly snide and condescending about it but it’s the internet and people do that all the time) .
So again, I support account-wide ignore if it means the people you’ve put on ignore don’t see your posts. Your posts obviously aren’t meant for their consumption anyway since they can’t even respond to them…right?

Person A ignores person B for whatever reason they want, person B enjoys person A’s posts and can continue to read them anyway
You want to change that since you think you deserve to control what other people can see, that is a significantly bigger step that just letting someone ignore a person
There is no conversation going on, person A just isn’t reading person B’s posts anymore, so I don’t understand how you think you’re allowed to control what other people can see

wait, what about this?
Person A ignores person B. Then person A cannot see any posts by person B, but Person B can also not see any posts by person A.
Say person A wants to un-ignore person B so they can say something to person B… before person A is allowed to remove the ignore, person B gets a notification saying “Hello, Person A wants to remove you from their ignore list so they can communicate with you again, would you like to allow this?”
then person B can say no and person A cannot remove the ignore.

Hmm, that would control the angry issue and both sides if in a heated discussion would have a cool down over time.
Best to just ignore them. You’ll get nowhere with them.
