Can we get account wide ignore?

I’m proposing exploring other solutions.

I don’t think account wide ignores are going to change anything on these forums…if not make it worse with the degree of tribalism already present between types of players.

Again, that’s victim-blaming to me, there are people out there that will always be out to ruin and get you in this world unfortunately that’s how it is,

So any system that moves away from privacy I will reject. I was so glad when Btag came out and we no longer had to share our real names.

Some of don’t and we have you on ignore for that reason.

Seems contradicting. You’re denying something that can actually help with privacy on the forums.

You dont care about privacy. Because if you do you’d stop alt swapping to keep talking to people that put you on ignore

Okay, this has got my attention.

in what way does your proposal assist with privacy?

Not victim blaming, just calling it like I see it. You’re so convinced that if people from your irl find out this toon your posting on is you, it’s going to cause a lot of problems for you irl since they don’t know about this toon. You’re also saying that when people found out something about you (aka have a grudge) they caused you a lot of damage, be it reporting whatever behavior to someone in your irl… Sometimes you got to look inward at the common denominator and change how you operate.

Also, you’ll still have privacy as long as your btag isn’t your irl name. If your btag is your irl name, you should change it imo. If you think someone might leak your irl name, maybe unfriend them on btag and block them.

No.

You are changing the topic to something completely unrelated for some reason.

I mean, really, the aggression that some people have is a good reason for a unified ignore. If someone’s going to get that worked up and attack others, they don’t need to be forced to listen to that noise, and the aggressive person does not need easy access to a way to keep hounding someone who is not interested.

If someone really gets that worked up then they should take a break from the forums.

Adding a stronger ignore will just create echo chambers within echo chambers, since the ignores won’t be used for their intended purpose.

What? What is the intended purpose then if it’s not for ignoring people you don’t want to see, hear, or react with?

I mean you’d have to talk to Blizzard about the current system.

Maybe they believe the ignore only needed to be a soft ignore since most people can get over not liking somebody they disagree with.

Yes they should, but they often don’t and that’s not a good reason to leave others to the whims of the horrible abusers of the non-unified forum who you love to go to bat for over and over again.

ah, but as seen in this thread, those are not the problem. The problem is people who feel entitled to other people’s attention, often phrased in rather abusive manners.

Khrog and Ard are annoying but Lil is flat out toxic. Anyone who thinks it is ok to make friends in game or in the forums just to use them then change toons to pretend they are another person totally to use those people again is a freaking narcissist.

Well we keep hearing about it but no reason why or what the original talking point was to get someone that upset.

I mean someone linked the CoC saying that circumventing someone who blocked you on one of your characters is breaking the rules. It’s just a matter of them making ignoring account wide so it’s harder for people to just alt hop to continue to engage with someone who doesn’t wish to engage in conversation any more.

Because it is what ignores does. Gives you that privacy to tune out what you don’t want to see.

Traditionally when someone breaks the CoC, the whole account is suspended and you can’t post on another toon.

Though if you want to stop someone dead then just take a break from the forums.

I mean, we all here keep hearing your dire predictions of doom and gloom if the forums get a normal style ignore, but no reasoning of how that would realistically happen, or any practical examples of forums with a similar system (like all other blizzard forums) where ignores have lead to witch hunts, echo chambers, harassment, dogs and cats living together or other such mass hysterias you keep throwing out without any sort of logic behind it.

Blizzard even tells us to use the ignore function if we disagree or don’t like someone’s posts. We just want to be able to ignore by account not by character.
