Many of us have been saying this repeatedly across multiple Btag/account-wide ignore threads.
Unfortunately, people prefer to pick fights and rise to obvious baiting. It’s why I kinda just don’t participate in these threads much anymore, even though I agree with the OP and would very much like something to be done to improve these forums.
I think I have all the major… issue people for myself on ignore now.
I still respond sometimes to them which, I probably shouldn’t, but I’ve decided I’m only going to do so to try and get a constructive result if I do… though I also won’t expect one. lol
If you don’t mind me asking, what are those additional steps? I can and will Google, but for myself and others who don’t know can you edumicate please?
1: Click on your Icon up top.
2: Double click on the midle icon at top next to the
3: Go to Preferences and click
4: Find users and click
5: Go to where it says add and then just type the character name and server in
6 : Pick how long you want the ignore to last .
Ok here is my proof (which I am sure you will argue isn’t proof or try to argue my own experience with me … Cause it’s never enough for you is it?)
I have had to add 6 “people” to the ignore list from this thread alone … from what I can tell it is at most two real people sock-puppeting the 6 different accounts. So I had to ignore 6 separate characters and on three of them I had to go the extra steps of going to my profile for the work around (thank you thread heroes!) Six steps that should have been at most 2 with account wide ignore.
There is your anecdotal proof that you said didn’t exist. 4 extra steps that I shouldn’t have had to go through for a person to have a decent forum experience.
It’s funny to me because I feel like it’s almost more confusing on mobile. which is also funny because the forums were overhauled some time ago specifically to be more mobile optimized. Which, I do like the experience on mobile but lacks in basic security and piece of mind usability.
Would love it if I didn’t have to go through any steps and there was a lovely block button I could click on that showed directly under their posts. They could put that sucker down by the flag button and they can even be roommates if you want.
Hmm, come to think of it I have never once used the bookmark button. does anyone ever use it? I’d be okay if we had to sacrifice the bookmark button for an easy 1 click block button in its place.
Then don’t bother coming into the thread, replying to people like me, etc. because I personally don’t care if you like that I want this topic to stay at the top or not because as I said an improved forum would and will benefit us all, case and point I could ignore you and never have to see your posts @ me again and it would be like you don’t even exist which is how it should be.
Thanks though for allowing me to add another post in support of improving the forums and bringing the topic back to the top because your reply to me had the opposite effect that you intended.
Maybe if you and the others left the topic alone and let us actually discuss, topics wouldn’t get deleted. But since you and the alts have already said your goal is to 404, that’s what ends up happening and plays right into our hands as support for account wide ignore.
I don’t feel like having to constantly throw the same guy and his alts on ignore. It should be one and done.
Blues don’t post about upcoming forums changes, it’s basically a surprise like new blue background and the dracthyr emoji’s. It’s information they won’t disclose or discuss with us on how their forum changes.
If it was a month later or years later since the last post, I see there was no point for the bump.
