I think the issue is some think that btags/account ID# could be used to harass people in game, yet such can’t be done if people are cautious about who they accept invites from.

Fact is, as long as people don’t know who is on the other side of the keyboard, or think there are no consequences, people will act either like they really are or like the worst they can possibly be unless they take the stance of “just cause we don’t know each other is no reason to be rude/mean/etc”,

And currently it isn’t because the system allows unending chances to evade an ignore with no real effort needed to do so. And fixing that isn’t really going to impact the ability of people to use the forums in any significant way.

To be honest, I’m still waiting for an answer on who is willing to scour this site for hours on end to find individual’s alt that you have on ignore when you have easy means to do it (Check-pvp) in a short amount of time.
This is if this gets implemented but I probably will never get an answer.

It could be a reflection of how we started off as children. As a youth, the way you handled arguments and conflicts would be built upon. There’s people that can’t stand it and there’s people that actually LIVE and THRIVE on conflict and argument.
For me, it takes epic effort to get me to put someone on ignore. On my social media, I have put on ignore people who bombard my posts with, uh, “extra spicy grownup content”. I had to ignore someone who actually supported insurrection against the government(he was a fringe Right kook). I don’t last long vs. people like that. Then again, I wonder who does.
I’m guilty of it, and I have been pinched for it in-game(but it was worth it for me). But I have to be salient enough; things have to be awfully heated. If they are going to give me Parthian shots, I will send my winged hussars to chase their horse archers down lol. Otherwise, I may be so dumb to not notice it until a bit too long after the fact.

They are of no benefit to any real discussion…and so…
…it doesnt take me much at all to ignore them.
I might speak to them again randomly, but in general once I realize theyre just here FOR the argument…such as attacking someone repeatedly who AGREES with them on nearly everything just to hear themselves attacking…I see no point in giving them any more of my energy than i feel to hour to hour, day to day.

yeah i’m beginning to think that these people who are arguing for account wide ignore don’t really want an account wide ignore… it seems to me that they just want to argue.
i mean, they have admitted to bypassing ignore with an alt, two of them actually bypassed my ignore with an alt in this thread, they don’t really seem to offer any evidence that it would be useful. do they even want account wide ignores? i dont think so.
if i had to guess, i think the other people asking for account-wide ignore just want to argue something and don’t really care about account-wide ignores.
I see absolutely no evidence they actually WANT a better block feature.
Seems if they wanted it this badly, theyd just block us and never look at our posts again.
Ive at least admitted that this forum doesnt NEED anything more than what we have…even if I would prefer a total black out block.
Just very odd behavior if we’re asking for a better block and we dont even actually use the one we have to its full ability…ie NOT responding to people we said we blocked.
Ive opened their ‘hidden reply’ many times. Often its just to see if theyve finally stopped attacking others and we can discuss a point. Other times its to see if theyre still violating the rules and a moderator needs to be alerted.
Usually, however, I overlook most of the ‘hidden reply’ when I have someone blocked.
I think if I were so consumed in having the block that I felt the need to make a thread about it a few minutes after moderation just locked one on the same topic, that you’d better believe anyone I have blocked ISNT being spoken to again.
But thats just me.
Ive got to agree. Ive been thinking this for months now as it is. If one wants a block this badly, one wouldnt be then talking to the persons one has blocked at all.
Wouldnt be reading their posts. Wouldnt be talking to others about their posts because I wouldnt be looking at them to know what they said.
Love how Doobly flipped the argument and now we are the ones that don’t care for the ignore and just want to argue. Even though he has been doing exactly that. The lizard is a hypocrite.
Also, he’s on my ignore but I can see what he says through others quoting him. lol

They pretty much have all been doing that. Poking at the people making a reasonable request until someone reacts, and then acting like it was some unprovoked attack on their innocent selves and then tarring everyone else as horrible people.
It’s really sad that this blatant trolling seems to get a pass from the mods because it takes a little extra work to realize what is going on.

i agree with this Thread, we need a account wide ignore option here.
lost count of how many toxic players i have met over the years and sense most players don’t get punished enough by Blizzard when ever they go around being super toxic.
i think people having the option will force them toxic player to learn to behave more.

but you already have an ignore function and it works perfectly fine.
if you dont want to talk to someone anymore, u just click ignore on their profile.
it takes like 3 seconds tops.
ignoring 1 character doesn’t fix the problem.
i could ignore your character now but nothing is stopping you from going to another character and pretend nothing happen just to be toxic again as someone else.
or better yet you could just get as this character start trolling people around and then delete it later to start the process again as another character.
if you can’t see this? you clearly can’t see that there is no limits to imagination.

The problem is that we want to be able to completely ignore troublemakers. And who oppose this? Why, the troublemakers themselves.
The idea that the forum will just completely block out people like Doobly is their own doing. Karmas a real mean mistress.
