Can we get account wide ignore?

^^Nice try Discourse. Hard pass. A real ignore system shouldn’t show those or give you the option either.

I actually think this should be in the game, It would also lessen some wankers ability to just hop on a lvl 1 alt to come nag at you anywhere.

I think that when you ignore someone it should basically translates on your battletag ignoring theirs and on your side of ignore list would show the character you ignored them on (without divulging their btag)

I disagree with them being unable to reply to your posts because forum discussions are not DMs, you should be able to hide them so you dont deal with their nonsense tho and that should be account wide.

but that is how the current system works and if account wide ignore were implemented, people could use it to find people’s alts by searching the forums for hidden messages after putting one person on ignore.

They probably did, as this person also used Taienna, Raist, Khapit, Anhand, and Aeond on this topic (multiple threads).

if you getting ignored on all your toons, it’s people showing you the door and asking you to leave.

Twitter / X is also a site for discourse…and yet is has thrived with a total black out block so I cant see them, they cant see me.

Twitter/X will also ban people for pretending to be other people.

That particular issue can can remedied by just removing the ‘hidden reply’ for those on your block list.
I’d think if they do intend to make changes (sorry to say I DONT believe a better block is coming here…ever) that they would also include removing that as well.

and they ban you for bad mouthing Musk

True. Imagine if blizzard did that here…

heheh, yeah.

It’s actually against the rules to attack Blizzard employees on the forums.
I wonder if they just sit back and wait until the thread simmers down and then go in and vacation everyone that participated in the attacks?

does twitter also ban users if they attempt to bully other users?

Not now… they tell you to block that user.

I suspect the reason why the vast majority do not do this is that by default, the threads are not muted. And studies have shown the most people never bother changing the defaults on anything. It’s also a function of how difficult it is to use the software. Usually if it takes more than 1-2 mouse clicks, people just won’t be bothered.

Conversely, wowhead.com does not work this way with the main part of their site (the comments section of articles and parts of wow. You do not receive any notification that someone has responded to you on wowhead. You do if you use their actual forum, but nobody uses the Wowhead forums.

The last factor you need to account for is the almighty “last word”. People often perceive whoever gets the “last word” in, wins the argument. And thats not just on the wow forum, but in life in general. So when 2 people starting receiving notifications that they are responding to each other, they will often continue arguing in an effort to get the last word in and thereby “win” the argument. This process is what usually causes things to spiral out of control.

The majority of the rest of them are talking about the person. Perhaps the title just needs to be changed to fireside chats with Doobly. :stuck_out_tongue:

Every time Doobly posts, two or more of them come back at him.
Its no wonder he has so many posts here if theyre interacting with him so much, lol
id have to check but I honestly dont think thats against the rules here to respond to someone posting at us.

You say that to the people that are for it then you’ll reply to the likes of Ard or Doobly with “Yeah the forums are fine as they are”

You are literally (by the informal definition of the word) talking out both sides of your mouth.

Pick a side of the road. If you honestly believe we account wide ignores then stop saying the forum is fine as is and if you think the forum is fine is then stop saying you want account wide ignores because you honestly don’t if you think all is fine as is.
