But if there was an account-wide ignore, you could ignore the people berating you with a simple couple of clicks and never have to hear it from them or their alts again. You know, taking responsibility for your own experience on the forums.
Likewise, if you don’t want people finding your alts, you could turn off the sharing of your armory data with third party sites. You haven’t done that either. One thing about Blizzard is that they’re not usually inclined to help people who won’t take the most basic of steps to help themselves.
but the thing is that blizzard has given people the option to turn off info sharing so that third party websites wouldn’t be able to link people’s alts to their mains.
if blizzard went through the trouble to initiate that system, why would they just ruin it by allowing account-wide ignores on the forums to link everyone’s characters together?
i just want to be able to post on the forums without all of my characters being linked together.
it prevents in-game harrassment from people on the forums.
i believe that this language isn’t really necessary. there is no need to insult people like this.
Update the CoC first, increase moderation and you might see an effective change in forum conduct.
As it stands, Blizzard lack of response shows they don’t consider it a high priority for it to warrant any further comment. This is just a small group of posters screaming as loud as they can, over a non-issue.
I mean, it would be nice if the mods came down harder on people playing them with feigned civility while they throw around nasty accusations. But really, the minor change to accounts would close a big hole that currently exists.
What do you think needs to be updated specifically, and to what?
That’s actually not true. Discourse is the software that the forum runs on, but Blizzard bought a license for it from them and have modified the code over time. The forum mods are internal Blizzard employees regardless of the forum software. Vrak clarified that a while back in the CS forum.
There’s no picking or choosing what is considered justified or unjustified chastisement against certain posters regardless of their status or reputation.
Either all of it is allowed or none of it is. There is no grey area here.
From what I’ve seen here no one that hasn’t been a shady person bypassing ignores to continue to troll, harass, stalk, etc. has been called out so sorry not sorry and I don’t agree with you, it’s entirely justified to call out people for being what they are, don’t like being called out don’t be like that, again it’s as simple as that.
Be fair, the people who are really against this have been pretty quick to call out all of us as horrible harassers, stalkers, nasty, rude and so many other things just because we want the ignore function to actually work.
