There are reasons why we say only the ones that post such things would be the ones to do them. Or to put it another way, the only ones to try such are the ones that would think of such in the first place.
People feed trolls when they shouldn’t. 2768 posts so far in this thread. 536 are Doobly’s. Nearly 20% of this thread is their trolling because they keep getting fed.

see, this player has confirmed that when you place another forum user on ignore, you will see “hidden reply” notifications whenever they post on a forum that you are viewing.
that is a verified fact, you cannot dispute this.

i genuinely don’t understand why you feel the need to insult me, i have been respectful and polite.
all i did was politely share an opinion that you disagreed with and i don’t think that would make me deserve to be insulted and treated without respect.
I mean, at least the developers, forum mods and CFAs who might occasionally be looking in to skim and see what people are up to or think about the issue aren’t dumb. What Khrog, Ard and Taienna are doing might not be punishable, or at least everything but Tai’s blatant “what’s going on in here, fellow kids” sockpuppeting isn’t, but they can see the quoting out of context with purposeful misinterpretations, the spammy misdirects with a lack of any kind of connected reasoning, the fake over-niceness so that they can go “I’m just a little boy, just a sweet little baby boy, why are you being so mean to me? 
” when people are baited into responding.
I’m sure they know what they’re about, and are discarding all the brou-ha-ha beyond “I don’t want this and I am doing a piquant mix of trolling to get the thread shut down and spinning up any new fake justification I can think of to stop it” for reasons that they can probably see if they care to look.

As with any thread here that asks for forum improvements, it always end up being a mega thread and it attracts certain individuals who may not like those said forum improvements because they wouldn’t be able to get around an ignore or cant swap alts to make people hear them (for relevance of the topic).
Which most topics that have some relation to this thread (i.e the btag threads) have either been locked or 404’d because people in those threads coninually take the bait from those that are just trolling with the purpose to shut down the thread and or getting too toxic.

and the irony is, if they want to stop discussion, they would be better served by not posting and letting the threads die naturally, but by trying to get them locked they only make it so similar topics will pop up.

I think the CoC needs to be updated before any forum changes are made at this point.
There isn’t much point giving the forum an overhaul if posters want to keep berating each other.
