Don’t worry, everyone believes you
Not asking them to “believe” me, it’s pretty simple math and basic principles that tanks use to figure out what keeps them alive more. It’s a lack of understanding on your part.
There’s a reason tanks tend to stack stam for EHP instead of avoidance even when avoidance can reduce more total damage. You need to be able to survive the worst case scenarios of the damage that gets through.
You can’t (or at least shouldn’t) be stacking your raid with enough paladins to DSac every major damage event. It will cost your raid comp to do so pretty significantly. The fact that you have to give up several raid slots to try to do that is another warning sign that DSac might not actually be a stronger ability than Comm shout in absolute terms.
Most people just weirdly assume that because DSac is a cooldown that you can bring 5 paladins to chain it makes it better than the thing that just gives you extra health the entire time.
As much as I loved blood dps, we’re at the patch that supposedly made it into a tank spec.
So /shrug
No, that was Cataclysm:
You’re literally saying 3.3.5 is Cataclysm with this statement.
It’s stupid and wrong.
Blood is pretty decent as a dps spec but it relies alot on pure physical damage so it takes some time to aquire armor pen to scale well.
With Ulduars inflated ilvl we’re at Trial of the crusader Ilvl already for some items but alot of Ulduar items aren’t itemized for Penetration, some are but we want a little more.
Once trial opens up I’d expect to see more DKs reroll to Blood to try it out when they get a few more penetration items and more again when Icecrown Citadel releases.
Edit: I do wish there were more dedicated blood DPS though for testing purposes right now, to get a better head start on modern testing for things like double penetration trinkets vs 1 pen 1 strength.
Actually not even close kid, Blood started to get nerfed in patch 3.2 (dmg wise)
- [Heart Strike]: Secondary targets of Heart Strike now take half as much damage.
Then buffed in the tank department during 3.2
- [Vampiric Blood]: Cooldown reduced to 1 minute and duration reduced to 10 seconds.
- [Frost Presence]: The damage reduction granted by this ability has been increased from 5% to 8%.
Patch 3.1 another tank buff
[Improved Death Strike]: This talent now also increases the healing from [Death Strike] by 25/50% and the tooltip has been adjusted to reflect the actual functionality after the hotfix in a previous patch
Patch 3.3 was the end of Blood DPS officially after it’s nerfs throughout wotlk and Saurfang was the last fight we got to see Blood DKs pump dmg and after that UH and Frost just obliterated Blood in dmg with their buffs.
Guess what patch we’re at atm, technically a patch that would be between Wotlk and Cata (patch 3.4.1 which never existed in original wotlk). We’re looooooong past the Blood DK dps days so get over it or try playing on a wotlk pserver that’s pre patch 3.1
Even then if people still decide to main Blood DK dps then you’re wasting a spot for a dps that pumps cause BDKs have to use Hysteria on themselves to even catch up to Frost/UH and other dps.
You might want to read every patch throughout wotlk kid.
That’s when it was official, but they definitely leaned into blood as the “main tanking” spec at the expense of the other 2 specs before then.
They realized fairly quickly that it was a bad idea to try to make all 3 specs viable DPS and tanks simultaneously.
No, they should remove DK’s entirely.
I literally did Halion as a blood dps in WotLK OG.
You know, with the talents we have right now.
There is very little reason for DKs to play blood dps when their other two dps specs are top tier.
Funny so did I, had to swap specs cause Blood was shafted once HS got nerfed. Its as if UH and Frost vastly out scaled Blood in gearing and buffs throughout the expansion
/pikachu shock face
You know whats funny is I’ve seen Blood DKs on pservers with endgame gear with Shadowmourne doing 9k dps…which is actually pretty bad
This doesn’t make it a tank spec, it just tuned down blood on certain AoE fights.
It literally didn’t touch their single target damage whatsoever.
No you didn’t.
You just should me your reading comprehension is on the level of a toddler.
I’m gonna dumb it down for you.
Bloods dmg got nerfed throughout wotlk and their tanking got buffed. UH and Frost got buffed to SURPASS Blood in dmg greatly by the time ICC hit.
What does more dmg a HS maxed rank with modifiers, SS maxed rank with modifiers or OB maxed rank with modifiers, Answer is SS and OB. So whos gonna do more dmg, if I was a betting man I’d put all of my money on UH and or Frost.
So AGAIN read the buffs/nerfs I listed earlier in the thread for Blood. If you don’t want to then w/e stay delusional I don’t care anymore to try to teach an adult human being how wrong they are.
Care to prove me wrong?
My dude, a 1 rune ability is not comparable with a 2 rune ability like that.
This doesn’t make blood the de-facto tank spec in WotLK. Cause it simply isn’t.
