Can we fix blood DPS?

Top Blood DPS passed Frost on Jarraxus, while padding less on adds:

Whats to fix? Theres two perfectly viable dps specs for your class, and as a tank spec it’s fine.

Might as well fix sub rogue, bm hunter, frost mage, destro lock while we’re at it.

Mostly bugs with DRW.

Cause they’re bugs. And they attempted fixing them after this post went up even if it didn’t pan out entirely correctly.

Blood is currently keeping up with frost.

And frost and unholy still aren’t bad tanks either.

People keep assuming Blood is just gonna skyrocket with armor pen gear. Most of them think this because they assume DRW scales with armor pen. It does not. And it will not. Because doing so would require a vast rework of the entire pet stats inheritance mechanic for the whole game. Blood can out-PLAY other players, and out do them when gear stacked. This doesn’t mean it’s GOOD. It means the player is good at it while those they’re with are less so. I believe logs are also giving them credit for unholy frenzy damage even if they cast it on another DPS that makes better use of it, which further inflates their indicated numbers.

Regardless, play what you enjoy with who you enjoy playing with. That’s what matters most. If you have a problem with how your group does things, either fix it or join a different group til you’re happy. If they have a problem with YOU
 well then it’s your decision time isn’t it?

It’s about 400 more dps on Valks if you cast it on a good Combat Rogue instead of yourself. It’s about 150-200 dps casting it on a good Feral Druid on other fights instead of yourself.

True. I could play Unholy and probably put out much better numbers on some fights but I like Blood and do absolutely fine in my guild. The spec is easy to play, I can chill and do the simple rotation while focusing on the fight.

blood is doing fine dps, its B tier at the moment, you beat the best of the best sweaties unholy but you will hold your own. its comparable to ret dps.

Retribution paladin is better looking at statistics, well yea blood is not popular and mostly is not running by the better raids and that’s changing things a bit with those results.
However there are still bugs with DRW that are not resolved they might be not a lot of dps increase but they’re really annoying to see still in the game.

Bugs, here is the list

  1. DRW goes for healing aggro
  2. DRW dots still resists after DRW fades.
  3. First autoattack in combat from DRW is still reduced.
  4. DRW blood plague not critting with T9 set bonus.

You can see in the log reduced auto, dots resisting and that DRW blood plague is not critting and I have 4set about healing aggro you can watch incan videos and watch drw going always for people that heal randomly.

dont think your DRW dots are intended to crit as its independent.

Weird what you’re saying as relics increasing damage on spells (same with talents and glyphs) are increasing drw spells, they also said in the post DRW is supposed to deal 50% decreased damage without ARPen scaling only. Hence even epidemic is working for DRW diseases length.

Blizzard has buffed:

  • Ret Paladins
  • Feral Druids
  • Hunters
  • Warlocks
  • Warriors

Yet Blood DK DPS buffs are non existent. Blizzard just needs to make a few adjustments and Blood DK DPS by 1.5k DPS and it’s viable.

Buffed warriors? Do you mean the bugfixes, or the debuff that helps the whole raid and not personal DPS is now instant cast?
I think you meant nerfed warriors, via Deep Wounds, Unbridled Wrath, pre-pot, etc.

All spell damage is susceptible to partial resists on raid bosses. DoT ticks partially resisting is not a bug. Level-based resistance cannot be countered.

You propably don’t understand what I mean so I will say slowly
every tick from dancing rune weapon dots is resisting after DRW fades, and this is a bug that didn’t happen even in old wotlk I even proofed with old video on github.

Prepot is also nerf for frost (blood subspec) and blood dk dps, simple change with shattering throw is more dps than drw fix but yea warriors didn’t get changed (well arms got but arms got hotfixed with taste for blood proc) true not like they need any buffs in icc.

I’m pretty sure this happened in old WotLK.
Weapon fades → next ticks are full value → all remaining ticks don’t show up at all.

I linked 2 videos here from old wotlk where it doesn’t happen for drw diseases after DRW fades. (comments from ‘danniellos94’) Shouldn’t resist for every tick after DRW fades.
