Just remove the achievements/transmogs but legend title/r1 from solo shuffle and keep the gear upgrade pve itemlvl because lets be honest that doesnt rly matter.
This will make it so 3s has more incentive to be played and hence more competitive.
Or buff/add more titles/rewards to 3s so 3s is played.
IMO nerfing Solo honor/conquest and MMR was a critical mistake. It’s the most convenient bracket, the most accessible and that has brought more participation to Rated PvP than ever before. As an avid RBG player up until DF, not having the time nowadays Solo has been my saving grace. Let’s keep every bracket as active as possible: Since we DO want to keep organized 3v3 the most lucrative, let’s give out more ranks at higher ratings, and new unique rewards. Players should feel motivated and incentivized to play certain things, to WANT to play them, rather than be systematically delimited to feel like they NEED to, or have no choices… Participation above all, in all brackets is the most important thing to work towards atm (and always, if we’re seeking the health of the game)
For the average player… it might be. It is to the dismay of many of us here, but without a community to saturate the queues and LFG (which are both in a horrible state, comparatively – I know, I’ve been PvP’ing since MoP) – nobody would get any rating… The top echelons of the community don’t care as much as the average player, and they can also keep playing because they have their groups, but most people don’t. But if one looks at the bigger picture… they should care about participation as a whole. Anything else is just a bonus
I don’t even like or play shuffle much but I’m still aware reducing the honor/conq gains from rss was an error on blizz’s part. Nerfing it again would be a bad call. Just buff the gains from other brackets to be on par.
This. Making something people enjoy less fun isn’t going to make them do something else they didn’t like to begin with. 3’s has been suffering because of a complicated game mode combined with a toxic community slowly killing itself for years (just my viewpoint). Shuffle may have served as a catalyst to fast forward us to where we would have gotten a little quicker, but I really don’t think it’s the original source of the problem.
No one thinks like this though. It was ALWAYS about rewards, whether it was gear power, xmog, or glad, it has literally always been about rewards. That’s just how MMOs work. The only anomaly to this is people who would gank lowbies, but in that case, the reward is other people’s suffering.
You don’t go into a job and think, “I sure am glad I get to experience working this job the way it’s meant to be worked” without it being backed up by a paycheck. Not everyone is content with unpaid internships, and that seems to be what you think WoW pvp used to be / should be.
