I get that they aren’t putting in the RDF, but they can’t really just think that a better LFG tool is enough do they?
This doesn’t address server age, server pops and a whole host of issues. I mean, is that the plan, put in LFG and consider it done? Are they going to merge more servers? enable cross server instancing?
No amount of socializing is going to create full groups at every level of the game. Eventually most people will be level capped and raid logging or daily heroic running.
How do they propose to solve that? if we’re not getting RDF, fine but please tell me there has been more thought put into the replacements for it
This is the big thing that anti-RDF posters really, really fail to acknowledge and typically ignore. All Brian has said is “we acknowledge it’s an issue” and thats it.
The only fix imo is to remove layering from the mega servers and start to squeeze people off of them. Mega server populations are broken and lead to rampant toxicity and only create issues with classic as we’ve seen in the past.
I mean, it seems one way to fix this is to put everyone on the same server (well, per geo, one PvE and one PvP)
But whatever, removing layering, server merges etc. Whatever it is, I’d just like to hear from Blizzard that they have solutions for this, or at least plans of some sort
This might work, this might not. Several guilds recently transferred off my server towards Benediction due to a lack of skilled raiders. Not sure if they’d come back just cause of a busy open world.
For that to work they would have to introduce a limit to the messages you can send in chat or implement some kind of slow mode like you see on twitch or youtube chats.
One of the constant complaints I hear from mega server players is that they can’t use lfg because the chat flies by too fast.
Also, there are so few servers compared to Retail that RDF isn’t even needed, especially when you take into consideration the packed nature of most of the servers they haven’t already closed.
They’ve also said they intend to address faction balance before completely launching Wrath, which will make RDF even less necessary.
Yes, that’s their entire plan. Nothing will be done about how players actually end up using it either, queueing for a random thing just to use LFG chat exclusively.
Who knows, they might actually put in a fix faster than the solution they had for world buffs.
That seems like a failure of the tool. The retail LFG tool for mythics works fine and its cross server (so like a mega server).
That is my question though. Blizzard has to know this, right? They honestly don’t believe that this tool will solve all the issues ,right? I’m just asking Blizzard to show they’ve thought this out and have plans in the works to addres it.
The “new” LFD tool is literally the same tool we have right now in TBC - but you have to be in it to chat. there is no better version of the LFD tool. and PvP will continue to get matchmaking, cross server, and teleport to BG, while PvE is screwed by the anti RDF minority.
If only there were a dozen other changes from tbc to wotlk that addressed the grouping issue. Oh wait, there is.
Dual spec
Tank changes
Healer changes
A new tanking class
Spell power generalized between damage and healing
Difficulty of heroics far easier in wotlk
Classes changed to not feel like X class cant aoe, or single target, or CC, exc.
Crushable tied to level instead of stats to make new tanking even easier
Exc. I know i am forgetting a few, but still…
