So I have been paying Retail since 8.3 - I have never once done anything related to PvP. Never_even_considered_it
However, as I am starting to get tired of PvE, PvP is starting to like it is worth trying.
But I am not here for you to convince to try, I am here to find out what’s in it for me if I take the plunge. Is there a site or a video or something out there that explains PvP for the total beginner and how I get rewarded and what kind of time investment, difficulty etc I will be in for? I love MOG’s and mounts. Does PvP provide same ones I can get in PvE or different? Stuff like that.
Thanks in advance
Edit - I don’t know the difference in the 3 PVP forums so I just posed here hoping it didn’t fall on deaf ears.

There’s just so much to say about PvP honestly lol. The gear looks good, and you will also have access to titles and mounts that are unique. Difficulty for you is going to be high since you’ve never done pvp before. You can read the guides and watch the videos sure, but the best learning experience you can get in PvP is to lose over and over again (which you will) and learn and grow from your mistakes. It’s not for the feint of heart.
Start out by queuing up in random BG’s… less pressure . You can then go on to arenas or rated BG’s if you prefer that. You can get mounts and mogs from rated games.
Alright, guess I need to read… no idea what rated means
TBH, someone in your position should avoid WoW PvP like it’s the plague right now.
That’s it? Maybe a few reasons why lol? If you don’t mind…
I crit a guy for 166k in Ashran.
Oh man. It’s going to be frustrating at first. First things first make sure you have everything keybound and turn with your mouse. Only movement that should be done with keys is strafing. Some people use a forward key but I just run with my mouse.
Get a gaming mouse if you don’t have one with at least 6-10 buttons. Bind them and use them. Also bind the mouse wheel up/down/press. Those can be used very quickly
Also it might sound silly but start practicing killing like you’re pvping on normal mobs when you’re questing/etc. I’ll pull 2 mobs and make 1 the focus target and one the kill target. I’ll practice CC’ing the focus while bursting the kill target. After that move to 3 mobs. CC one. Root another, attack the 3rd. Then swap. CC a different one and swap the kill target while keeping the other slowed.
Sounds silly but it helps me and it’s a good way to get used to using your CC / Slows which is the hardest / most important part of PvP.
