Just wanted to see if I am making a “dent”.
Looks like you need about 5 replies, 400+ topics viewed and around 17k posts read.
Thanks, Vrakis. That helps give me a baseline.
Keep in mind that your forum profile Summary does show you some of the stats you need. It can show you how many posts read you have right now - so you can add in the 17k that Vrak said and 400 topics viewed to set goals.
I can’t see your profile, but you can so write down what you have now, then write down the number you need to get to.
Thank you, Mirasol. I did take a look at my profile and am now keeping tabs.
Those blue dots are still confusing me, though. Sometimes the ones that show as I scroll do not disappear, and sometimes - even though the posts do fall within the 100 day parameter (going back to Dec, '24, they don’t show at all.
I know that dot indicates read/not yet read, but is it possible there’s an anomaly in the programming?
If I see a thread that turns out to be older than the 100 day limit, I have been just clicking where I think that the parameter begins and then begin the “read” process. Could that be what’s causing the blue dots to not appear?
Thanks everyone! I’m working on it!
You might be scrolling too fast. That causes them not to disappear as you scroll past them.
I already have 32k posts read and I still haven’t reached level 3
Bear in mind the number of posts you need to reach that milestone changes daily. Just gotta keep cracking at it!
Mirasol does give some sound advice above and coupled with getting the remaining metrics from an SFA as Jonas has, that equation is only 100% accurate for that same day.
Stats for TL3 are only eligible in a 100-day window, so what you read 100 days before that will change your requirements the day after an SFA lets you know.
The metric for posts read is 20,000 posts in the past 100 days. You want to average at least 200 posts each day to avoid having enough posts ‘expire’ on a given day to dip you below the 20,000 total.
It’s also not just posts read. You need to view a broad range of topics, do a bunch of upvotes and post a middling amount of replies to other stuff. Just scrolling through megathreads on speedmode won’t do it.
Sure, I know that. It doesn’t help them in the intent of this thread, but certainly in keeping it maintained once obtained. Their metrics will change on a daily basis since I presume they’ve been around the forum block a few times.
Though if they wanted to wait a little longer and start counting down from 100 starting today, that’d be a different story.
The process once you qualify isn’t instant. The process to award Trust 3 runs automatically. If you don’t receive Trust 3 in a day or two, let me know.
I re-visit OP’s of mine and “like” the answers as a rule - even the ones that disagree with me. It’s an opinion, it is theirs, and they took the trouble to post. It’s a good way to say “thanks”, IMHO.
I don’t think I ever knew that the was that important, however.
Trust levels are basically about community participation. So I believe the requirements around it are various aspects of participating in the community.
You can just like Vrak’s posts if you want Makes it easy. Click the profile of the person you wish to “like” then view their activity and like their posts. Maybe not all. Just some.
When I get a flood of likes from one person, I know why. They are just buffing their like stats and using my posts to do it.
Sometimes the forum bugs out for me where the dots won’t clear even when scrolling at reading pace. I just refresh the webpage and it works fine again.
Ooorrr they just perused your profile and really did like what you wrote! I mean you are very helpful in general!
Maybe - but I usually attribute it to needing some likes and knowing I am not going to think it is odd.
Also, thank you
