So going all the way back to 2017 its been known one particular wow server is home to the most abundant mass of quitters of keys and other game content. I want to know if I can explicitly exclude players in the description just to save them time from queueing into my groups and allow them easier time finding players that will take quitters.
I know the company doesn’t care or have an answer for quitters leaving group content so you’ve left it up to the players. I want to know if this is a solution or if players need to keep looking around for a solution to a problem you guys are creating.
The simple answer is NO. You cannot exclude everyone from a specific server as that would be considered discrimination and not something that Blizzard would allow.
I don’t think there is an issue with putting what you want, but listing those that you want to exclude is usually another matter. I wouldn’t encourage it.
It isn’t that we don’t care, but we don’t generalize about a specific group or realm of players. It is also difficult to verify “quitting” verses someone disconnecting or otherwise having connection issues.
If you feel there is a viable solution on how to discourage quitting or otherwise addressing that kind of situation I’d encourage submitting feedback/suggestions so our Game Developers may be able to take it into consideration. Such feedback should be posted in the Dungeons, Raids & Scenarios forum or through the in-game submit a suggestion option in the Support Menu.
Hi Vrakthris, thank you for your response. Its just the ONE server. That’s it.
I want to preface my response by saying I dont want to exclude them to be mean, but rather to prevent them from wasting one of their queue finder applications and save them 5 minutes. The one particular server has been known for quitting and leaving group content on a whim.
There are complaints and posts since 2017 explicitly naming one particular server for being particularily egregious.
{Removed links due to specific realm call outs}
Its resulting in people quitting the game.
By being allowed to explicitly deny players in the group finder, it may end up being a community solution of pressure where certain realms would be “on notice”. I know it isn’t just me and I don’t feel its fair though to waste somebodies limited applications or have them get discouraged when their timer runs out to 5 minutes.
If you wish to submit feedback then you would need to do so where the people who make game changes can view it and take it in to consideration. The Support Forums are not that nor are the employees for Blizzard here liaison to them.
As it stands, there are no limited applications as you put it that someone has to join groups. Excluding players from a specific realm is discriminatory and not something that Blizzard would set in place. You can accept or deny someone from your group but do not advertise that you won’t accept someone from a specific realm.
Ive had people from those servers who have been great in keys, Ive had some that are not. Ive had people that have been good from american servers, some that have not. Its not an issue with the server other than a few being notorious for lag and drop outs, its just the nature of playing with other people.
Some people leave because they genuinely need to, some will bail when its obvious a key is unlikely to be timed, some will leave if its obvious there is a person to carry and they didnt sign up for that, some leave to be jerks or because you or someone else in the group was a jerk.
Blizz cant really punish people for leaving keys. They also can not force people to stay in them.
Publicizing the exclusion may be actioned depending on how you do it. Rules aren’t going to mention specific phraseology but I assume writing something like “No Ragnaros” can be considered harassment because it is technically a callout. As a Mythic+ fanatic myself, there are certain realms that display disproportionate rates of certain behaviors, but I have never had a problem with people from Latin American servers quitting, specifically.
I’ve had quite the opposite experience with people from those realms when it comes to Keystone loyalty, but if your behavior in this thread alone is any indication of your in-game interactions, I can’t imagine why people would drop you like a hot rock. Also, it is worth noting that you have created this thread three times now, each in a different forum. The one in General Discussion is currently hidden, and according to one of the participants, you have another one that was already locked. The mods may not have gotten around to processing your hidden posts yet, but if you keep up this behavior they are going to exclude you from the forums.
Remember, Blizz broke the addon that excluded realms automatically entirely due to this issue. Safe to say open discrimination for any reason will result in consequences
I feel like if choosing a realm to allow or disallow were acceptable in the description of a LFG listing there would be an option for it. The same way there is an option for minimum item level, or Horde/Alliance only.
You have no way of knowing where the players you are playing with are actually from. You don’t have to be Australian to play on the Oceanic realms. You don’t have to be from Central or South America to play of the Latin American realms. You don’t have to be from Brazil to play on the Brazilian realms. You don’t have to be from NA to play on the NA realms.
How is quitters leaving group content Blizzard’s problem to fix? It’s not automated. There isn’t any RNG deciding to remove someone from a timed group near the end. What sort of solution are you looking for?
All Blizzard does it offer a tool for players to make their groups. Players create those groups. You are looking for Blizzard to have those players stop quitting a timed event. Instead of quitting, some would AFK. The result will be the same.
Unless you are the one quitting (or the one from the thread you linked) you have no way of knowing that it is the reason anyone is quitting. Going by what was posted, neither of you are quitting. “I am here to let Blizzard know why some people stop playing.” They seem to think they can read the minds of people who stop playing. It may be true. It may not be true. It may only be the reason why some people don’t use the group finder, not why players quit.
I don’t believe it was necessary to bump the thread after four days just to try and insult other posters, Pnut. I believe the question has been answered, so I’m going to lock this one up.
